Back to #3DPrintedGuns - I'm a gun guy. I'm making my own guitar from scratch. I 3D print replacement parts for tables. Have a full workshop with a CNC.

Still haven't been able to successfully print a gun. It's not as easy as it's made to be.
Give it a few more years,. I'm seeing metal 3D printers starting to become a little more reasonable for the home market (still a niche thing for people with a lot of money).
Tools that can build table legs can be used to build firearm barrels. CNCs that make cool signs can cut out lowers. You can't stop tools from doing the things you don't like. You never will be able to.

Here's the great thing about #3DPrintedGuns

Right now, they're a novelty. Single shot, rough, not reliable, tricky to get printed correctly and a little dangerous to use.

Soon technological advances will make them reliable, solid, metal and there is *nothing* that can be done.
Sure, you can make the construction of a firearm a criminal offense, but that's the thing about criminals - they're ok with that. No criminal is going to say "I'd print a gun to rob that store, but I don't want to be penalized for the gun".
Thus, like practically every last gun law, it will only *create* criminals out of honest people who would harm no one while doing *NOTHING*, not a SINGLE thing, to stop criminals.
