Story of the 3rd incarnation, Parvati was practicing penance for Lord Shiva. Shiva finally appeared, he agreed for the marriage. On the marriage day, Shiva reached King Himavan’s palace in a most terrorizing form along with the strangest marriage procession.
His procession consisted of ghosts, sages, goblins, ganas, ghouls, aghoris and Shivganas and many more. His body was smeared with ash, with hundreds of snakes
around his neck and in the matted locks of his unkempt hair.

On 2nd day of #9daysofNavratri, we worship Maa Brahmacharini. Maa walks naked feet with a Rudraksha mala in one hand and a sacred Kamandalu in the other. The meditative form of this goddess symbolizes Goddess Parvati when she engaged in her deep meditation to please Lord Shiva.
In the previous thread, studied that Sati immolated herself, she took birth as Parvati. When Parvati grew up, Narad Muni visited her. He told her about her previous incarnation and she has a chance to marry Lord Shiva by following the path of devotion & penance.
Determined to marry Shiva, Parvati commenced for a challenging journey of penance and mortification. For the initial thousand years, she ate only fruits & flowers. After that, she ate only vegetables for thousands of years. For 350, she ate fallen leaves of trees.

In #9daysofNavratri, we worship 9 different Devi on 9 different days, Shailaputri is the first among all which means daughter of Mountains. It is believed that she is the daughter of Himalayas Mountain. Her other names are Parvati, Hemavati, Rudramukhi, Aparna.
She's the most prominent Devi among Nav-Durga. She's worshiped on the first day of Navratri due to her endless glories. Widely known as Maa Parvati, she was the daughter of King Daksha, who was one of the sons of Lord Brahma. She was a devotee of Lord Shiva& wanted to marry him.
But Daksha was against her wishes as he considered Lord Shiva not as a fit for a royal family. He forbade it, but she disobeyed & married Shiva. She moved with Lord Shiva to Kailash. Once, Daksha organized a Yagya & invited all the Devas except Shiva & Sati as he disliked Shiva.
