The Swedish silent service is on quite a visible PR-campaign in Finnish media. First we had a surprisingly long article dealing with a well-publicised exercise from last spring when the Swedish submarine #HMSUppland visited the waters around #Hanko. iltalehti.fi/politiikka/a/2…
Some nice pictures from the event. The Finnish #Navy is getting more serious about hunting submarines following the #Hamina-class MLU, and getting a suitable 'target' to train on is key.

➡️ La Försvarets MaterielVerk a notifié un contrat à #SAAB (CP, 14 septembre) de l'équivalent 🇸🇪 d'une Indisponibilité pour Entretien (#IE) pour prolonger de 6 ans le HMS « Södermanland » (📸 SAAB (2016).
➡️ Le CP cite « 50 modifications » (soit autant de lignes de travaux ?) dans le cadre d'un contrat de 43,91 millions d'euros devant permettre de prolonger le HMS « Södermanland » jusqu'en 2029-30, selon la durée du chantier.
➡️ La plus importante modification serait le remplacement des batteries, dans le cadre d'un contrat plus large englobant le remplacement des batteries des HMS « Gotland » (1996), HMS « Uppland » (1997) et HMS « Halland » (1997) - classe Gotland (programme A19S).
