.@Fsfofficielle President @AugustinSengho2, on keeping faith with #TeamSenegal coach Aliou Cisse, who has taken them to a successive #AFCON2021 final. “I am convinced African Football will develop with the skills of its own children or [we] will never [do so],” he tells me today.
There has been heavy criticism of Cisse’s coaching style by many in Senegal, despite qualifying the Lions for their second @FIFAWorldCup appearance in 2018, as well as reaching the #AFCON2019 final, which he lost to Algeria.
@AugustinSengho2 continues: “We are now on the last path, leading to the #AFCON2021 trophy and I think it will be a strong message to the world if an African coach wins this edition.” I couldn’t agree more with him. What do you think?

📸 CAF I #SportsBiz
When Patrice Motsepe ascended to power as the President of CAF on 12 March 2021, he could hardly have gone into the position at a worse time.

The federation was described as a holy mess bereft with corruption, infighting and in financial disarray
His biggest task was the state of broadcasting of football games and tournaments on the continent.

An Egyptian court scrapped a billion dollar deal that CAF had with exclusive agent for marketing and media rights, Lagardère as the deal had been concluded without any open tender

I’ve just listened to an interview that #AFCON2021 Referee Janny Sikazwe had with a group of Zambian journalists, on his experience during the #teamMali v #TeamTunisia encounter, when his match judgement was impaired by heatstroke. “I could have died”, he told them.
Sikazwe: “The weather was so hot that day. The humidity was about 85%... After warming up [for the match] I felt the harsh conditions. Even after taking water, to cool down, it was if I hadn’t taken anything. But we (match officials) are soldiers and were ready to carry on.”
“At the end of the first half, we got to the dressing room early, before the person who had the keys to it...We decided to lie down & put our legs up, to relax. He then came and opened the door and we had some water & juice. It (the conditions) was something else.”

There is dignity in labour.

Labour is anything you engage in mentally and physically that delivers value.
The confidence and self worth that comes from delivering value is unparalleled.

WHAT you become while working is more important than your present renumeration.

The problem of Nigerian football across @thenff with the national teams and the @LMCNPFL with the #NPFL teams is the lack of professionals in key positions of teams. The @NGSuperEagles did not have the right back room and same with the clubs in the league. Football is science now
Football is no longer a game tied to just talent and luck. We need professional scouting of the opposition, full detailed analysis of our team's strength and weakness and same for the oppositions. There is an arrogance that goes with just banking on your talent and luck.
That arrogance, in on itself is the gateway to failure. It happened with our #NPFL teams playing every year on the continents, I saw it first hand with the Super Eagles in Cameroon. All the energies expanded on bringing politicians to do team talks, should be better invested.

Francophone Africans complain about French influence but hardly question the remaining constructs of French colonial governance like gouverneurs (commandants)", prefets (chef de terre), ENAM, cachets, Napoleonic Civil Code, gendarmes, etc. not to mention our currency the Franc!
We are "anti-France" but our whole societal model of accomplishment revolves around being more French than the others. More champagne, more French wine, trips to Paris are all elevated as proof that we reached a certain level in society.
Until we deconstruct our own individual relationships with French colonialism, we will continue to cry la France est le diable but we will always maintain our colonial relationship.

🚨AFCON Fantasy QF #GW5 Thread🧵🚨

Yes we have reached the GF of #TotalEnergiesAFCON2021.

8 teams left. Few surprises have left us /w players from eliminated teams, like Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Mali.

Templates have become stronger. Can we still gain to boost the rank?
🔷Teams & Schedule #GW5 (with predictions)

Day 1:
1. Gambia 🇬🇲 - 🇨🇲 Cameroon (1-2)
2. Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 - 🇹🇳 Tunisia (0-1)

Day 2:
1. Egypt 🇪🇬 - 🇲🇦 Morocco (1-2)
2. Senegal 🇸🇳 - 🇬🇶 Equatorial Guinea (1-0)

[1]
Despite high expectations and good underlying stats, we have seen too many low scoring games that I wouldn't dare to predict high scoring games.

But some things I guess could happen:
These games: 🇬🇲 - 🇨🇲 and 🇪🇬 - 🇲🇦 could be a higher scoring games than : 🇧🇫 - 🇹🇳 and 🇸🇳 - 🇬🇶

About Predestination and Freewill. It's a long #thread y'all.

Is freewill is really a thing? After all, if God supposedly has everything planned out, and has predetermined every outcome, are my choices really mine?

Please RT this thread. It will bless you and others. Thank you.
Let's start from 1 Jn 3:20

1 John 3:20 KJV
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
See also Ps 147:5, Heb 4:13, Acts 1:24.

So, God knows all things. Let's take a brief look at 5 things God knows.

1. He knows everything that...
happens in the universe. Job 28:24, Pro. 15:3, etc.

2. He knows our thoughts, can read our minds & motives. 1 Chro. 28:9, Ps. 44:21, Jer. 17:9-10

3. God knows the future. Ps. 139:16, Isa. 41:21-24

4. God knows the what-ifs, the unltd possible scenarios in every situation...

Not ONE tweet about Emi Martinez and match fixing following Bruno Fernandes' first United goal at Villa Park.

But cretins are all over the place making daft comments and insinuating match fixing following the CIV keeper's howler last night at #AFCON2021

Anything to diss AFCON
Watched the replay of that Salone equaliser and I fear for the Ivorian keeper. He could easily have bust his knee. He tried catching the ball and sliding on the turf. Pitch was not having it, bumped him high up following impact on his knee. Naturally, he dropped the ball..
If Steven Caulker had not followed the ball, the goal does not happen. Even then, the goalscorer lost his footing but managed to scuff the ball home.

Nothing even close to extraordinary happened there. But, it is AFCON, so let us make wild comments and skits.

#TeamEquatorialGuinea are playing with 10men in this match. He might go on to score (I will be shocked), but their no 9 is the worst player I have seen at this #AFCON2021

What exactly is wrong with the Algerians? Why are they so disrespectful of the ref? Whingeing all about.
Equatorial Guinea have scored o!

IF this game ends like this, the final group game between Algeria and CIV will be WAR. Wow.
