Total number of registered voters: 82,344,107
Number of total votes: 28,614,190
The winner (APC) had 15,191,847. (Less than 20% of total). Despite the billions spent on their campaign, the party's "popularity" and

OBIANO AT 7: IN OKEKE, ANAMBRA GOVT. IS STARVING ITSELF TO DEATH

The collective tag on Gov. Obiano's administration may not allow for a full appreciation of this matter. But, to its credit, Obiano's government attracted and retained quite a number of talents.
Some were given unfettered opportunities to soar. Others met a different politics of the workplace.

Personally, I consider the under-utilization of Deputy Governor Nkem Okeke to be one of Gov. Obiano's pronounced human resource failings.
Those who know Dr. Okeke say the man is loaded, both in intellect and in character. If this is true, one can begin to imagine what Anambra lost in this period of seven years because his wings were clipped.

1/ The country’s profile got bleaker this week for a host of reasons - impetuous regulatory behaviour, refugees left out in the cold, a needless rise in public recurrent spending and an unshackled rogue police squad.
2/ Nothing illustrates #Nigeria’s dysfunction as much as the minimum wage palaver. The ₦27,000 ($75) or even ₦30,000 ($83) is not much – those that earn it will hover around the poverty line.
3/ The issue is that even such a wage is beyond the capacity of @AsoRock to pay, and for many small businesses as well, this will represent a massive upswing in cost. There is a disconnect between value creation by the workforce, and how much they earn.

Your Excellency, before you came back to become an elected president of the Federal Republic, there were dozens of events that offered you compelling reasons to pay visit to the Light of the Nation, but you found excuses to stay away.

Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu died and was buried. Leaders from all over the world poured in to Nnewi, Anambra State, to pay their last respect. You were nowhere to be found.

We lost our very own erudite Prof. Chinua Achebe, you couldn't care less, Your Excellency.

1/ Politics and governance took centre stage this week, with the FG under fire for a slow response to floods in Benue,
2/ and Amnesty International serving a reminder, where none was needed, of the catastrophic human toll of Boko Haram’s insurgency.
3/ Finally on the reminder trail, Nigeria’s states have always had a thing for debt, and Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are Nigerian after all.
