Key words differentiating national news from intl. news hinted towards awareness of systemic racism, but with more subtle terms. Terms most telling of domestic outlets included “color,” referencing systemic inequality for “communities of color” and “people of color”

Theory - some Latinx blame immigrants for increasing hostility towards Latinx in US. They are redefining Latinidad to exclude immigrants. As such, Trump and restrictive policies are not a status threat - and support for Trump signals this redefinition of Latinidad to outgroups.
Lucid Sample of 1164 US Latinx and MTurK pilot of 197 US Latinx. Resentment scale includes 4 questions that measure belief in existing negative stereotypes about Latinx immigrants and that "Undocumented make Latinx look bad". Various tests demonstrate validity of this measure
Contrary to Machismo Media Narrative - Sexism had no impact on Latinx support for Trump. @MelissaDeckman #APSA2021
Relying on ANES and CCES datasets from 2012-2020 we consistently find that while Latinx are more likely to exhibit sexism, it does not significantly affect support for Trump. Further, Latinx sexist are no more/less likely to support Trump compared to non-Latinx sexists.
