Today’s the day.

The Arkansas House will convene today at noon to decided whether or not to expel state Rep. Mickey Gates, R- Hot Springs, who pleaded no contest in June to a charge of failing to pay his taxes. #arleg #arpx
It’ll take 67 votes to remove Gates. 59 lawmakers have told @ArkansasOnline they plan on voting in favor of removal.

More on that here: arkansasonline.com/news/2019/oct/…
For context: the last member of the House to be expelled was former Speaker John Wilson, who infamously killed a member on the floor in 1837, after a debate over wolf-scalp legislation (you read that correctly, and the full story is even more insane).

MUST WATCH: At Arkansas Congressman @rep_stevewomack’s town hall on Wednesday night, he tried to blame single parents for our gun violence crisis. @MomsDemand volunteers were not having it: “I’m a single mother and that was so disrespectful!”

#ARLeg
Then he blamed gun violence on Godless schools. On a lack of spanking. And on social media.

It didn’t go too well.

This is what every single town hall will look like until you act or we vote you out, lawmakers and candidates.

Get ready for @MomsDemand.

At Congressman Steve Womack’s town hall in Rogers, AR tonight he was asked a question about gun violence. He blamed single parents and the room was not having it. @MomsDemand #ExpectUs #ARLeg
THEN he blamed the separation of church and state saying we took God out of schools. No word on if he meant other people’s gods or just his. Again, the crowd was not having it.
Later a woman (my new shero) got up to scold him. 👏👏👏

Rep. Dan Douglas of Bentonville, a Republican, said he has never been contacted by the @NRA, adding that other Republicans were starting to wane in their consideration of the group's ratings: “In some legislators' opinion, they're getting too radical.” arkansasonline.com/news/2019/apr/…
"...for a long time, the @NRA was seen as a force that could not be countered. But in 2017, a legislator introduced the most extreme piece of gun legislation we've seen. He lost his seat by 10 points,” freshman Rep. Nicole Clowney, a former Arkansas @MomsDemand leader.
Who was the lawmaker who lost his seat after introducing the @NRA-supported guns on campus legislation? @CollinsARK.

Who beat him by 10 points? @DeniseforAR, former Arkansas @MomsDemand volunteer.

The end.

If you, like me, cannot point to a single thing @RepFrenchHill has done for the benefit of his constituents in #AR2 then you owe it to yourself and everyone else in the seven county area to vote for @clarketucker this November. #arpx #Vote #Midterms2018
.@RepFrenchHill has voted to end coverage for pre-existing conditions. He doesn't care whether or not you can afford to see a doctor, or even if your health insurance will cover a visit. He does not care about #Arkansans #AR2 #ByeFrench #VoteThemOut #arpx
.@RepFrenchHill supports @realDonaldTrump #ConcentrationCamps for migrant children, infants, and toddlers. He refuses to speak up about these egregious #HumanRights violations. #Arkansas deserves a better, more humane representative in #AR2 - @clarketucker is that person! #Vote
