Klimasorg - klimahandling - bon courage.🧵Klima fylder meget i det her valg. For mig har det fyldt noget siden starten af 90’erne. Tidligere var det tit lidt nærmest ensomt eller nørdet at være fokuseret på klima - tendensen var at det gled lidt i baggrunden. Ikke længere. Fedt!
Til gengæld oplever jeg en lidt bekymrende afstand i opfattelser af situationen. Groft sat op: mellem dem der grænser til ren doomer-opfattelse; alt er skidt, der sker intet, blablabla-synet på “systemet” og så en mere optimistisk opfattelse med tillid til den grønne omstilling
Jeg er hælder nok til den forsigtige optimisme. Vi er forlængst - efter al sandsynlighed - væk fra den totale klimakatastrofe (RCP 8.5), som man fx kan læse om i “The Uninhsbitable Earth”. Vi kan ikke vide os helt sikre, men nålen i prognoserne flytter sig i den rigtige retning

Thread. So An Bord Pleanala only want to pay 25% of my costs even though I won the case and they agreed at outset that I qualified for costs protection under environmental law. Not to mention the fact its a public interest case and is supported by public. #Aarhus convention. 1/
In another appeal hearing attached to this case, the night before the hearing I received a letter from Chief State solicitors office threatening to apply to have my cost protection removed if I proceeded with the case. Reluctantly due to this & other considerations I withdrew. 2/
We’re in court in the morning to try secure 100% costs in line with settled case law & high court rules. We are talking hundreds of thousands. Ordinary people taking extraordinary risk to ensure the law is correctly applied. Its no way to enforce environmental law. Wish me luck.
