This is not a particularly radical proposal, and actually more than anything resembles what traditional small-government conservatives (remember those?) were pushing for during the post-9/11 debate over the formation of DHS.

We can reverse this, before it's too late not to.
2020 has dramatically exposed what we who have been dealing with these agencies daily have known for 17 years:

DHS answers only to the President--and even then only if they *agree* with the WH.

We need to impose real accountability & real oversight... before we can't.

@CBP lies and falsifies documents regularly. Here is one more example. CBP falsified a new hearing notice for for someone who had already won their case and then lied to the person repeatedly about the process.
They are also apparently holding some people more than 20 days after their cases are denied without giving them access to the appeals process. Meaning they are preventing people from filing appeals by holding them in custody until the 30 day appeal deadline is over.
CBP is a rogue agency. They operate with impunity in lying on official government documents and violating the rights of asylum seekers. It’s time to #abolishCBP

One of the best places to give $$$ is to a community bond fund.
Bond and bail funds don't have many overhead costs, so all or nearly all of your donations directly benefit impacted families. 100% of $$$ given to our Fronterizo Fianza Fund go towards paying bonds and small commissary/telephone deposits. fianzafund.org/about-the-fund…
