Sunday marked 100 days since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a devastating decision that has left millions struggling to access essential abortion care.

We’ve broken down the repercussions of this decision over the last 100 days, by the numbers. 🧵⬇️
People across the U.S. seeking abortions are being forced to cross state lines, traveling hundreds of miles to access essential care.

Consequently, clinics in states where abortion is legal have become inundated with out-of-state patients.
We continue to #ActForAbortionAccess in support of #WHPA and the EACH Act. These two bills are critical to ensure that people can get the health care they need and MUST be passed by Congress. 📣

#BREAKING: We just filed a case in Georgia state court against the state’s 6-week abortion ban. Last week a federal appellate court allowed the extreme law to go into immediate effect, causing a devastating crisis as clinics were forced to turn away patients &cancel appointments.
Since #SCOTUS overturned Roe last month, a domino effect of bans has decimated abortion access in the south and across the U.S. A six-week abortion ban is particularly dangerous in Georgia, where the maternal mortality rate is alarmingly high, especially among Black Georgians.
Additionally, forced pregnancy can derail people's education, career and life plans, resulting in greater economic hardship for the pregnant person, their children, and their families. #AbortionIsEssential

Today allies in the U.S. House introduced the Reproductive Health Travel Fund Act. This crucial legislation will support those who need to travel hundreds of miles for abortion care as access has been decimated across the U.S. following the #SCOTUS decision that overturned #Roe.
Since #Roe fell, six states have made abortion totally illegal and many more have made it virtually inaccessible. People are now forced to travel 100+ miles to access abortion, which increases cost and wait times, and pushes care out of reach for those working to make ends meet.
The people harmed most are those who already face discrimination when accessing health care–particularly Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, young people, women, people in rural areas, individuals in the LGBTQI+ community, immigrants, and people living on lower incomes.

Right now, the House Judiciary Committee is having a hearing on "the Threat to Individual Freedoms in a Post-Roe World." Our liberties are at stake. Watch and listen here: judiciary.house.gov/calendar/event…
Chairman Nadler makes it clear: conservative judicial activists on the Supreme Court are threatening our arc towards progress and collective freedom. Under the reasoning of the Dobbs decision, other individual freedoms are under attack.
Of course Rep. Jordan (1) cites the Court's opinion cabining the impact to the right to abortion as though they didn't pull the same bait and switch with the ACA birth control cases, (2) mischaracterizes WHPA, and (3) cries about people being upset with the Justices.

#BREAKING: A federal district court in #Arizona has blocked a “personhood” law—one that would grant rights to fetuses, embryos, and fertilized eggs—from being used to criminalize abortion services.
After #SCOTUS overturned #RoevWade, abortion providers in Arizona stopped services, unsure whether the "personhood" law would allow state officials to inflict a total abortion ban on Arizonans.
In 2021, the Center and its partners filed a lawsuit to challenge a harmful abortion ban that put providers and pregnant people at risk of being prosecuted. #BansOffOurBodies #AbortionIsEssential

#BREAKING: We just filed a lawsuit on behalf of the last abortion provider in #NorthDakota seeking to block the state’s trigger ban, which would prohibit nearly all abortions in the state now that #Roe has been overturned.❗The ban is set to take effect on July 28.
If the trigger ban is allowed to go into effect, abortion providers could face a maximum of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. #BansOffOurBodies #AbortionIsEssential
Our client in this case, Red River Women’s Clinic, argue in the lawsuit that the trigger ban is unconstitutional under the North Dakota Constitution, which guarantees North Dakotans the rights of life, liberty, safety, and happiness, all of which protect the right to abortion.

#BREAKING: Florida’s harmful 15-week abortion ban remains in effect.

Shortly after a state trial court officially issued an order blocking the abortion ban, the state appealed the ruling, triggering an automatic stay of that injunction under Florida state law.
The law, which has been in effect since July 1, has already had devastating consequences on the health and futures of Floridians by forcing them to continue carrying pregnancies against their will. #BansOffOurBodies #AbortionIsEssential

I’m seeing a lot of posts saying people will die because Roe has been overturned. That is definitely true. But perhaps not for the reasons you think.
Self managed medication abortions are safe and effective, although potentially legally risky. ifwhenhow.org/repro-legal-he…
But people will die because they can’t get the health care they need.

They will bleed out after an ectopic pregnancy ruptures.

The public health implications of overturning #RoeVsWade are clear: it means pregnant people will needlessly suffer. act.ucsusa.org/3ndb6mk
The policy decisions following this ruling that restrict reproductive health will ignore what the best available science tells us about how to best protect people.
Everyone should have access to healthcare. Everyone should be able to access approved medical procedures, drugs, and other services. Denying or restricting people of these services only endangers people’s lives.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization has OVERTURNED Roe v. Wade, decimating the right to abortion in the U.S. and opening the door for states eager to ban abortion outright. THIS DECISION IS WRONG. #AbortionIsEssential #SCOTUS
“The Court’s opinion delivers a wrecking ball to the constitutional right to abortion, destroying the protections of Roe v. Wade, and utterly disregarding the one in four women in America who make the decision to end a pregnancy...” —Nancy Northup, Center President and CEO
“While public support for access to abortion is at an all-time high, the Court has hit a new low by taking away – for the first time ever – a constitutionally guaranteed personal liberty...” —Nancy Northup, Center President and CEO

🧵 I am beyond disappointed and angry with the #RoevWade decision. I am proud to be a pro-choice legislator and am ready for the fight ahead to advocate for the right to an abortion because abortion is healthcare. #AbortionIsEssential #ncpol Image
Important: Abortion is STILL LEGAL in states across the country, including North Carolina.

Now, more than ever, we must ensure we have pro-choice champions in our state legislature who will be strong advocates for the right to choose. Follow @LilliansList @VoteChoice @emilyslist Image
I am proud to be an outspoken leader for reproductive rights in the North Carolina House. I have filed several proactive pieces of legislation to protect the right to abortion in our state. But, In NC, we are at the razor's edge for abortion access. #ncpol #BansOffOurBodies Image

🧵Last night, @GovernorVA Youngkin sent down an anti-abortion budget amendment he is hoping YOU don’t notice. It strips essential funding from lower-income pregnant people & families that receive a “gross & total incapacitating fetal anomaly diagnosis.”
2) This is a CRUEL & CALLOUS attack on a family facing a tragic pregnancy at their most vulnerable moment. This is also about taking power & control away from a family's personal, private medical decision. STUNNING! #AbortionIsHealthcare
3) Here is @GovernorVA Youngkin’s letter to legislators. How does forcing lower-income people to carry a doomed pregnancy to term against the advice of their medical provider and/or their own personal family decision make VA “the best state to raise a family?”

Okay, listening into the #RHEA the Reproductive Health Equity Act testimony, and listening to folks that haven’t given birth or could have opinions about #reproductivehealth is just always disappointing and unnecessary.
This guy on this panel basically said “why does birth need to constitute a human right”, um, sir, what in the what? LIVING HUMANS don’t have human rights yet.
All this commentary coming to you is really actually inspired by @Justa_Jus ‘s incredible commentary 🤣

On the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, reproductive rights across the country are no longer just being chipped away at – they are being bulldozed straight into the ground. I refuse to stand silently by and watch that happen. #Roe49 #RoevWade
Protecting reproductive rights has never been more important in our history than right now. We must fight for reproductive justice by protecting and expanding access to abortion, birth control, and all forms of reproductive health care and passing the ERA.
I’m proud to be one of the 8 in 10 Americans who support the legal right to abortion. That’s an overwhelming majority of our country, and it’s time to act like it with concrete actions to safeguard this right. It’s time to #PassWHPA and #PassERA.

Did you know your constitutional right to an abortion is on the U.S. Supreme Court docket?

RT if you believe #AbortionIsEssential
TOMORROW the Court will consider Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, a case dealing with Mississippi's abortion ban that DIRECTLY challenges #RoevWade.

That’s right, the state of Mississippi is asking the Court to take away your constitutional right to abortion.
If Roe is overturned, *half* the states in the country are poised to ban abortion. The harm and chaos experienced by folks in Mississippi and nearby states like Texas will spread across the South and Midwest.
