Unemployment rates are based only on those actively looking for jobs, versus those with jobs. Last time I checked, retired people and stay-at-home parents — which represent 15% and 18% of the population, respectively — are not counted in that rate. #ActBlue
So if you take 33% of the population, plus 2019's 4% unemployment rate, you're at 37% when talking the entire nation. But not everyone donates, so that skews numbers. Like where 15% are retired, but 20% of your donations come from retirees. It's a smaller pool of donors.
How could Lindsey Graham have 20% retiree donation if only 15% of the country is retired? The same way you can have 50% unemployed donation rates for a country that is only 37% unemployed. Smaller pools will skew the broader numbers. #ActBlue
@GeneralDilley I'm not a fan of Trump, personally, & didn't vote for him. That said, I told my (Trump-hating) father I thought Trump would be an effective cathartic, in the medical sense of a purgative/laxative drug, causing the #DeepState & general corruption to expose itself & be removed.
@GeneralDilley In the willingness of our intelligence agencies to abuse power to spy on Trump and his campaign, to their subsequent attempts to cover up such corruption, we have borne witness to the Deep State and its inherent corruption.
@GeneralDilley Even now, & despite the fact #blacklivesmatter donations are passed directly to the Democratic political group #ActBlue , as a libertarian, I would be remiss if I did not thank #BLM for drawing attention to the very real problem of the militarization of policing in this country.
