Young claims that "almost 20%" of Pakistan's judges are women. A quick web search reveals that Pakistan became independent in 1947, but didn't have a single female judge till 1974. semanticscholar.org/paper/Women-ju…. After an additional 47 years, there are rather more female judges, but
only 17% of judges are women, very few sit in the "high courts" (around 5%), and "The majority of female judges work in certain specialized courts, such as juvenile courts and family courts," dawn.com/news/1640773. cmi.no/publications/7…, with more than 1/3 of female judges
