In Afg, between 2012/13, I used 2 head 1 of the most amazing Departments in the National Solidarity Programme (NSP). The WB funded NSP worked in 34 provinces and covered over 90% of the country, including Taliban controlled/influence areas. The NSP had its challenges and problems
Yet, it ws instrumental n creating work, comunity assets, capacities, representation & women engagement @ the vilage level. Due to its success, the WB replaced it with the  Citizens' Charter, a largely similar program although with less perceived reliance on the implementing NGOs
and more reliance on the government capacities at the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD)  and elected Community Development Councils (CDCs). The Charter committed to incrementally provide every village with basic services, as part of minimum services

"The biggest source of corruption in Afghanistan", one American official said, "was the United States."

We knew that in 2013

If you read the 2013 story about Afghanistan, it doesn’t take much imagination to think the CIA may do similar things in other countries.
How did the US come to ‘own’ Australia as the result of a few key figures?

January 2018: After the excitement of our trip ‘on the run’ in Europe, we all decided it was best that our eldest daughter James went back to boarding school in Australia. If I was going to go to gaol, we would need as much stability as possible, and it would be the safest place. Image
It was the saddest goodbye, as I couldn’t accompany her, as I would likely be arrested on arrival, and I didn’t want her there whe it happened. I was so proud of her putting on a brave face, but I knew it simply wouldn’t ‘work’ for long without her with us.
When we spoke on the phone she kept up the facade, and the extended family were great, but those with children know the ‘missing feeling’ one gets if anyone is left behind. She knew why I had to stay away, but it also hurt.

Dear @SecDef #Austin, the Afghan Government "collapsed" because the US Administration cut a deal with the Taliban, not because of Taliban attacks which they countered for 19 years.

The Taliban made advances because they had a deal with the Adm that they will be the next power.
Dear General #Milley, the best way not to "Americanize" any war is not to cut deals with the enemy, the Taliban in the case of Afghanistan.

As simple as that.
Can Congress ask the secretary of defense, the joint chiefs, and @CENTCOM commander, what is the plan they established with the #Taliban in #Doha, to transfer #Afghanistan to them?

Was there a joint plan? If yes, what was it. If not, how would a transition take place?

1. Finally, the British establishment is ready to admit that #brexit has failed.

The Brexit promised by Boris Johnson has failed to materialise, much same as his dream of a garden bridge.

When Cameron failed to win referendum he stood down. It’s time for Johnson to follow suit.
2. Britain needs a reset and it was the #AfghanistanDisaster which has finally woken up our defences to the reality we have fools in charge.

Update #Afghanistan
