Jordan benefits from lavish assistance from the US, its far-and-away largest provider of aid. That it gets away so easily with harboring a killer of Americans shames all those involved. That certainly includes the news industry, the think-tanks and the analysts who cover it up.
2/
So where's the outrage? Americans including our child were murdered in an act of savagery for which a fugitive terrorist takes open credit. Years go by and most of America's senior political figures pretend not to notice that #Jordan shelters #AhlamTamimi. This is bizarre. Image
3/
Both sides of US politics ignore it. The fugitive says it's about religion, yet most human rights orgs steer clear. We're not into conspiracies but this is black and white. Justice is trampled and the silence from the many we've approached for support is crushingly consistent. Image

In Jordan where previous media reports and statements by political figures have misleadingly asserted they don't extradite Jordanian citizens, the parliament on Monday passed a draft law approving new extradition treaties with two more European states.

Despite what its supporters say, Jordan's refusal to extradite #AhlamTamimi to Washington where she has faced terror charges since 2013 rests on just one official leg: a local court decisision claiming the 1995 treaty Jordan signed with the US was never properly ratified.
3
There's no doubt at all that Jordan ratified the treaty in 1995. The fact that the act of ratification (in writing and we have the document) wasn't mentioned by the Jordanian court in its ruling invalidating the treaty in the case of #AhlamTamimi is significant in itself.

The clip below is about my teenage daughter's killer. My wife and I are determined to see #AhlamTamimi, a Jordanian media personality, extradited from her homeland to stand trial on US federal terror charges in Washington. Signing here change.org/ExtraditeTamimi will help us.
2
Leveraging its influence, Jordan keeps under wraps how it harbors #AhlamTamimi despite the treaty requiring her extradition to the US. Our apolitical efforts to get their support for justice is mostly ignored by members of Congress of both sides. The mainstream media bury it.
3
Most people will tell you that antisemitism and terrorism need to be fiercely opposed and defeated. In reality, #AhlamTamimi's appalling freedom testifies to how principles are sometimes trashed because of unspoken interests that no one publicly defends. Please stand with us.

Thread: The @StateDept and the fugitive bomber
2
It starts with how @NedPrice, @StateDept mouthpiece for the claim that accountability is needed in the cases of an @Aljazeera reporter and a girl on a Jenin rooftop, both killed in gunfights where #PalArab shooters were wildly active, avoids all mention of my murdered daughter.
3
You need to follow social media posts to understand the point. Since 2017, the mainstream media suppress how Jordanian terrorist #AhlamTamimi, an indited fugitive from US justice, admits she's the bomber of a pizzeria filled with Jewish kids. Jordan illicitly safeguards her.

It's hard to convey the depths of the frustration. We're fighting to get public officials to do their duty, to prosecute an indicted, admitted bomber/terrorist. They don't say "stop" or "you're wrong". It's easier to just ignore us. Or to just say "We're doing it but..."
1/6
But what? Jordan doesn't want the headache of handing over a mass-murdering felon? One who happens to be an icon, a celebrity, widely adored and never publicly criticized over there? Has someone decided the Jordanian street's embrace of antisemitic terror can veto US justice?

If you know anything about the years-long struggle to get the @Sbarro bomber on trial in Washington, you know it from social media. On Jordan, America's major media long-ago opted to trample their own principles; to suppress the scandal; to ask no questions.

No US government official or diplomat in any of the Obama, Trump or Biden administrations has tried to justify US passivity in the face of Jordan's harboring and disgraceful empowering of the woman charged with being the @Sbarro bomber. They simply ignore it and so do the media.
Most of those who follow my wife @FrimetRoth or me or our joint account @ThisOngoingWar on Twitter know at least the basics of what brings us to be active in the social media. Others seeing this probably don't know why we want to waste their time. For them, this brief intro.

Frimet and I suffered the loss by murder of our middle child, #Malki, when she was 15. Malki was one of many children blown up in a Hamas bombing of a @Sbarro pizzeria in the center of Jerusalem in 2001, an atrocity which targeted Jewish children. That's something we can say

Quietly, various commentators, politicians and government officials have claimed at various times that the Jordanians restrain @FBIMostWanted #AhlamTamimi (whom Jordan harbors) and have curtailed her terror-inciting activities. We understand why they say this. You should too.

As of October 20, 2022, Jordanian #AhlamTamimi has been a fugitive from US justice for 2,046 days. The terrorist bombing of a Jerusalem pizzeria thronged with children and spearheaded by Tamimi made her a celebrity. Why is Jordan permitted to keep her safe from justice?

The statement below was issued in Washington on March 14, 2017. Source: justice.gov/opa/pr/individ… Image
The statement refers to two Americans killed. It ignores a third American, a young mother having lunch in the pizzeria with her toddler child. The mother remains unconscious today, years after Jordanian fugitive #AhlamTamimi executed what she publicly calls "the finest of deeds". Image
Another of those murdered was our daughter Malki, one of the two Americans mentioned in @TheJusticeDept statement. Jordanian fugitive #AhlamTamimi who masterminded the atrocity and carefully chose the site wanted a target filled with children. She got it. Image

🧵#OTD - Aug 9, 2001 - a Palestinian suicide bomber walked into the Sbarro pizzeria in central #Jerusalem at lunchtime and murdered 15 civilians, including 7 children, and injured 130 others.

The bomb was packed with nails, nuts, and bolts in order to maximize casualties.

There's a reason Americans don't know about this stunning case. The same reason @CNN, @NYTimes, @60Minutes and the rest of the mainstream US media don't expose it. @TheJusticeDept want this admitted bomber tried in Washington on US federal terror charges. Jordan prevents it.
It's 2017. The US invokes 1995 Jordan/US extradition treaty, requiring Jordan to hand @Sbarro bomber #AhlamTamimi over to face terror charges in DC. Jordan refuses and keeps her safe and free. @StateDept whispers that the treaty is valid. @POTUS insists Jordan's a dear friend.

It's 2022. As parents of an American child murdered by the fugitive Jordanian's bomb, we keep trying to engage with @StateDept leaders/diplomats/clerks who for years serve up insulting mantras. Their games sicken us. Washington pretends not to notice US justice being trashed.

After watching the @WhiteHouse once again roll out the red carpet and over-the-top praise for Jordan's king on Friday, we don't know if the bill currently in a committee of the Congress that sanctions Jordan for its trampling of the 1995 treaty with the Clinton administration...

stands a chance. What we can say is Jordan's illicit harboring of @Sbarro bomber #AhlamTamimi was unmentioned by @POTUS, his officials, @StateDept and US media. So...
❶ Is there quiet agreement to ignore the @FBIMostWanted bomber's freedom and her years of terror incitement?

❷ Has Jordan's demeaning of its 1995 treaty with the US now been accepted de facto by the Biden administration?
❸ Is it now US policy in specific cases to pragmatically ignore #PalArab terror and the murder of Jewish children including Americans like our daughter Malki?

The Jordanian government of @KingAbdullahII has shielded and sheltered the admitted bomber, #AhlamTamimi, in Jordan since the day the @FBI announced she faces federal charges and named her an @FBIMostWanted terrorist. His Majesty is an honored guest today in the @WhiteHouse.

With Jordan's king hailed in Washington this week as America's "most loyal" friend, it's hard to describe the dismay overwhelming us. We're bereaved parents of a murdered American child. Seeking justice, we instead get the cynical mantras of politicians and officials. Image

He rules over an impoverished realm but was recently exposed as having "spared no effort to conceal his real estate holdings" [icij.org/investigations…].
@KingAbdullahII get kid-gloves treatment in the Oval Office and the media hold their nose. A disgrace all round.

In Tampa FL Friday, Jordan's king met the commanders of US Central Command and US Special Operations Command to discuss "regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach."
rhc.jo/en/media/news/…
This is troubling.

2/
Is a terror policy called "holistic" when it means harboring America's most wanted female fugitive terrorist #AhlamTamimi? That's what Jordan has done since 2017. The @StateDept admits (too quietly) that Jordan is breaching its 1995 extradition treaty obligation to the US.
/3
3/
For shabby political reasons, Jordan gets away with refusing to extradite the @Sbarro bomber who murdered 15 innocents and has became an Arab celebrity and icon. She's free because that's what @KingAbdullahII wants. US officials want him to be happy. And let justice be damned.

To our friends in the @TheDemocrats:
The extradition of @Sbarro monster, @FBIMostWanted fugitive #AhlamTamimi, has been blocked for years by Jordan. It obscenely opposes US efforts to prosecute her and says the 1995 extradition treaty obliging them to hand her over is invalid.
/2
But it is valid. #Tamimi doesn't deny her key role in the murder of our daughter Malki, 15. Since 2012, my wife and I have pressed the relevant parties to end this charade and get the fugitive into @FBI custody. That we haven't succeeded isn't for lack of trying.
/3
To our dismay, the @StateDept keeps wanting what we want - #Tamimi in US court facing US justice as US law requires - but says it via what we view as pointless mantras... while routinely praising and rewarding Jordan at every opportunity. Clearly something's wrong.

Five years ago today, a Jordanian court rejected a US request for the extradition to Washington of confessed bomber #AhlamTamimi, whose victims included US nationals. The 1995 extradition treaty was invalid, it ruled, since Jordan had not complied with its own laws in signing it. Image
2/
In reality, Jordan has extradition treaties with multiple countries that it respects. As for the US treaty, it respected that too between 1995 and 2017. The legal "flaw" could have been easily fixed and still can. Jordan's leaders clearly prefer it to be thought of as broken. Image
3/
Documents we obtained from the @StateDept via a FOIA suit in 2021 show that (unmentioned by the Jordanian court) the 1995 treaty was ratified by King Hussein, father of today's king. Image

Our quest for American justice has no partisan aspect. What we ask you and @SecBlinken and Pres @JoeBiden is what we asked the Obama and Trump administrations and your response is no better than theirs. March 14 marks 5 years since @TheJusticeDept charged her. Where's justice?

Qatar's @AlJazeera says it's rescreening on Feb 12 a sentimental Arabic-language tribute to @FBIMostWanted #AhlamTamimi (screen cap below minus the violins). The 15 lives she obliterated in the @Sbarro massacre goes unmentioned. Qatar's ruler was a @WhiteHouse guest last week. Image

@SecBlinken, senior officials told us recently that @StateDept prioritizes getting Jordan to extradite @FBIMostWanted fugitive #AhlamTamimi to Wash DC as the treaty requires. Does no mention of it in the "great" @AymanHSafadi visit briefings signify progress? Or the opposite?
2/ The Jordanian woman is a confessed bomber who has taken to urging groups of youngsters to take pride, as she does, in the fate of the victims of the savage bombing she orchestrated. Our 15 year old daughter Malki, an American, was one of the "Zionists" she blew up that day.
3/ Tamimi's face has appeared on these @FBIMostWanted posters since March 2017. Oddly the posters have never appeared publicly in Jordan in all that time. This may be connected to how the bomber was then and still is an icon and a hero in Jordan, a US ally.

But #AhlamTamimi isn't. As his host @SecBiden knows, she faces US terror charges for killing 15 innocents in a pizzeria bombing she admits she spearheaded. 2 were young Americans; one was our 15 yr old daughter. Why does US allow Jordan to keep this @FBIMostWanted fugitive free?
Why is Jordan praised and rewarded by Biden admin officials (and by Trump admin officials before them) even as Jordan mocks justice, disrespects bilateral treaties, makes the bomber an icon? Is this some trivial issue no one should take seriously? Why isn't MSM reporting it?

Two US nationals were murdered in the bombing orchestrated by Jordan's #AhlamTamimi; a third is still unconscious. Tamimi calls the massacre "my operation". She's lionized for it.

Why has no US official ever demanded publicly that Jordan extradite Tamimi as the treaty requires?
Thanks to years of cynical protection by Jordan, confessed bomber #AhlamTamimi is a pan-Arab media celebrity. Clever interviewers and ethically-challenged hosts 'forget' to ask Jordan's king, a frequent visitor to Washington, how Jordan justifies disavowing the 1995 treaty.
@CNN's celebrity interviewer @FareedZakaria stands out for repeatedly hosting Jordan's king without once allowing Jordan's shameless harboring of @FBIMostWanted terrorist #Tamimi to spoil the fun. What would you say to him if it were your child who was one of #Tamimi's victims?

Every day since March 2017 we have hoped to hear senior officials of the US @StateDept publicly call out Jordan and its leadership for failing to extradite the #SbarroBomber to Washington as the 1995 Jordan/US treaty requires. Instead through the years we get this sad mantra:

Though there's a $5M @StateDept reward on her head, none is needed to locate the fugitive. She's lived the life of a celebrity in Jordan since 2011, proudly taking credit for the bombing. Yet no senior US official challenged Jordan's failure during @KingAbdullah's July visit...

The fact that elected officials and civil servants are plainly reluctant to address the #AhlamTamimi scandal in public raises troubling questions about justice. And since they won't speak truth to power, what's become of the enquiring major media and their probing questions?

Many think that as parents of one of the many victims, we urge fury because of how much the #Sbarro atrocity devastated us. It did. But we have warned for years that the dead Jewish children made #AhlamTamimi a Jordanian heroine and the massacre an inspiration to more savagery.
Since we pay close attention to the Arabic media in general, and Jordan's in particular, we see (and relatively few Westerners do) how much support there is for #AhlamTamimi's "resistance" action and the utter absence of Jordanian criticism of what the kingdom has made of her.
The absence of Western media focus on how the orchestrator of a massacre targeting Jewish children has become a hero goes unreported, complicating efforts to urge the fugitive terrorist's extradition to Washington. How major media editors choose what's reported is an education.
