The number of children affected by the UK Tory Government's two child limit goes up every year.

No one can predict how life will run - especially given the pandemic - and it is completely unfair to penalise the minority of families who have more than two children. #AllKidsCount
Last year, @BPAS1968 found that the Tories Two Child Limit was forcing women into terminating a healthy pregnancy. This should be headline news, it's utterly chilling. #AllKidsCount #2ChildLimit

And of course, that's not an option for many who decide to carry on with a pregnancy, who would not consider abortion for religious or moral reasons.

No woman should be forced into an abortion for reasons of poverty caused by Government policy. #AllKidsCount #2ChildLimit

Today marks the 4-year anniversary of the two-child limit.

Our research, released in December 2020, found that this cruel policy is a “significant factor” in women’s decision to end a pregnancy during the pandemic. #AllKidsCount

Even the most carefully planned families can find themselves plunged into financial difficulties due to
sudden unemployment, and women can struggle to protect themselves against unplanned pregnancy.
This has never been more true than during the current pandemic. #AllKidsCount
Our polling, released in March 2021, shows more than two-thirds of adults in the UK believe the government should scrap or suspend the two child-limit – including the majority of Conservative supporters. #AllKidsCount

This morning, @CommonsWorkPen are speaking to reps from @MuslimCouncil of Britain, @churchofengland and Interlink about the impact of the #twochildlimit - which is limiting support for families with children
@CommonsWorkPen @MuslimCouncil @churchofengland The policy should be lifted because in the UK we believe that every child should have the best start in life. This means access to free healthcare, a good education & a childhood free from poverty. We wouldn’t turn away a sick child from our hospitals or stop them going to school
@CommonsWorkPen @MuslimCouncil @churchofengland The two-child limit denies families the support they need from our social security system when they experience tough times - trapping kids in poverty. We need to help children thrive, by supporting parents to raise happy, healthy children.

Today we, @churchofengland, @womensaid, @turn2us_org and @refugeecouncil have published new research on the #twochildlimit [THREAD]
About 160,000 families have been affected already; most are working families and most have three children.
As a result of this policy, 300,000 children will be pushed into poverty and one million children, already in poverty, will be pushed even deeper into poverty by 2023/24.
