it’s been nearly 3 months since i was arrested at gunpoint on Wet’suwet’en Yintah, and i’ve been following a lot of the news coming out about recent events on the territory 1/
it’s very telling how so many politicians are denouncing the events that have taken place, and how silent they all were when our human rights and rights as Indigenous peoples were violated in late november 2/
it’s also disgusting that people view this damage of property and machines as violence, and not the total destruction of our territories, our rivers, and our salmon as the most genocidal and violent act that’s taking place here. 3/

In the wake of what appears to have been an impeccably coordinated attack on #CGL equipment two nights ago, liberal proponents of nonviolence have begun to cast doubt on the motives of the attack and to suggest that it was a false flag attack carried out by the RCMP. (1)
To be clear, we don't know the identity of the attackers and we don't want to. We express our unwavering solidarity with #Wetsuweten land defenders & their supporters who may face increased levels of state repression in the days & weeks ahead. We wish them unity & strength. (2)
The proposed pipeline corridors that run through the unceded territories of the Wet'suwet'en, Gitxsan, Secwepemc, & other Indigenous communities of so-called BC are some of the most important front-lines of the #ClimateCrisis in the world. The stakes are incredibly high. (3)

On December 16, 2021, Dinï ze’ Woos of Cas Yikh, Gidimt’en clan of the Wet’suwet’en nation confronted one of Coastal Gaslink’s international investors the National Australia Bank (NAB) at their Annual General Meeting. #WetsuwetenStrong

He confronted NAB about their investment in Indigenous Rights. Coastal GasLink has not gained free, prior and informed consent.

Listen to their response.
Banks are not taking responsibility for their involvement in land theft and illegal projects like Coastal GasLink, that continue to enact colonial violence against Indigenous people with no intention of stopping.

Wet'suwet'en say no pipelines!
Wet'suwet'en individuals collaborated on making this compilation video of testimonials stating their support of the actions to protect Wedzin Bin and to state their solidarity with the Cas Yikh of the Gitdimt'en.
We are so grateful for those who stand unified with the decisions of our dinï ze’ and tsakë ze’ who made a formal declaration in our bahlats multiple times.
This declaration has already resulted in the defeat of the Enbridge bitumen pipeline and WILL result in the defeat of fracked gas pipelines in our yintah as well.
Please note the views expressed here belong to individuals.

After a long day in court 10 Land Defenders and supporters arrested on Gidimt’en territory, including Sleydo’ and Jocelyn, remain in custody in so-called Prince George.
Court has been adjourned and will resume at 9am tomorrow.
Cody Merriman was released with conditions to reappear in court on Feb 14th, and to not return to the RCMP/CGL "exclusion area" except to travel through it to his residence.
Faced with this colonial conditional release, the decision was made to sign in order to take care of he and Sleydo's young children - and not in recognition of any wrong doing.

Shortly before 3pm, a large caravan of RCMP agents and multiple k9 units returned from Coyote Camp and arrested Sleydo’s husband, Cody, who was documenting the illegal entry of the RCMP on Woos’ Territory from the side of the road.

Inspector Ken Floyd, of the RCMP E Division, claimed that Merriman was blockading the roadway and preventing Coast GasLink from conducting their operations, therefore in breach of the BC Supreme Court injunction.

1/3 The thing I haven’t seen NDP partisans take accountability for the fact that the conflict on Wet’suwet’en territory is not an unfortunate and unavoidable circumstance that exists organically and is very difficult to solve.

It’s a conflict the NDP created.

#bcpoli #cdnpoli
2/3 The pipeline being forced through #Wetsuweten land would not be happening without permits granted and massive subsidies to the industry given by the NDP.

The NDP didn’t just not say no to the pipeline, they invested in it.

#WetsuwetenStrong #AllOutForWedzinKwa
3/3 Elders arrested on their own land, assault rifles pointed at women, jailed journalists — these are some of the ugly things this country is built on. This is Canada.

But it’s also the NDP right now.

The injustice on #Wetsuweten territory is red + white, and it’s orange too.

Thread - BC seems like one big (climate) disaster rn: TMX, CGL, LNG, Site C, Fairy Creek, violent incursions on FNs, mass violent arrest of people doing civil disobedience, mismanaged pandemic...
mismanaged heat dome and premier taking vacation and minimizing hundreds of deaths, and now a mismanaged floodstorm (they didn't even warn people to stay home/off the roads) ....
Economically truck and train from port has been cut off from rest of country…we don’t know the humanitarian impact yet but it’s bound to impact First Nations and rural communities hardest…at least the #TMXpipeline will face more delays as we build pressure on government

WET’SUWET’EN people are once again in control of Wet’suwet’en yintah! Dinï ze’ Woos asserts jurisdiction by enforcing our laws with the 2021 Evacuation Order. The Morice River FSR has been disabled, blocking trespassers from our yintah! Image
CGL was given 8 hours to evacuate their worksites and after asking for an extension of two hours to get their workers out safely, CGL chose to keep their workers in the territory. They blockaded the road with trucks and heavy machinery on a bridge near what is known as Camp 9A.
Community members and supporters gathered at the 39km marker today and everyone on the yintah is safe and secure, effectively stopping all work within Cas Yikh territory!

This is what real Nation to Nation looks like, Haudenosaunee and Wet'suwet'en family standing together against the colonial violence and corporate greed that threatens the safety and well-being of future generations.
The Wet'suwet'en have called on their Allies across Turtle Island to stand with them. They need boots on the ground, people in the streets, folks amplifying on social media, wherever you are, whatever you can do can make a difference.
Forcing Indigenous People from their lands is an act of genocide. When we stand together, we can fight back against the violence Canada brings to our homelands at the end of a barrel.

1/ RCMP Dump Drinking Water at #CoyoteCamp

Officer Charney clearly enjoys his job. Here we see him emptying water cisterns yesterday and threatening to arrest anyone that tries to stop him.

2/ The CIRG also rifled through tents, took ATV and truck keys and locked them inside the vehicle. They harassed media and legal observers while standing less than 6 feet away from them without masks.

All under Charney’s command.
3/ This is the Community-Industry Response Group. “Specially” trained, applicants want to go in as industry thugs removing Indigenous people from their lands when they oppose projects. This is your tax dollars at work. Last year was $20Million.
