A snippet from #TurningofDays. Really loved this project b/c it let me build on themes from previous books while giving attention to how those truths are embodied in natural world.

Readers of #HumbleRoots and #AllThatsGood will recognize this mashup. Finding patterns & connections btwn natural revelation & specific revelation is my absolute favorite. Would write this book 100x in a 100 different ways if given the chance.
All that to say, I can't wait to get it in readers' hands. I'm usually like, "Yeah, so I've got a book coming out... but only read it if you want... I mean no big deal... it is what it is." It's different somehow w/ this one.

This thread sums up my approach, too. There's a difference btwn seeking the truth that gives life & simply opposing error.
IME, faith that takes shape in spaces primarily devoted to rooting out error will often be weak & immature, only knowing how to see evil & never recognizing goodness.
The pursuit of true goodness matures in ways that avoiding evil never can. #AllThatsGood

When people ask me to explain how God uses our work to sanctify us, I'm just going to point them to this.
And it isn't simply about being "nice" people. There is a direct link btwn a job well done & being people of good character. Humility, perseverance, truthfulness, patience, self-control--all of these are essential to doing our best work.
My writing is terrible when I'm not truthful w/ myself & others. It suffers when my pride centers myself in the story. And have you ever slogged thru a book that existed for the primary purpose of the author's self-justification?

For folks like this, do you consider it a blessing or curse?
For me, it can feel like a curse b/c so often I'm not in a position to do anything about it & so I end up having to watch as (what seems) avoidable become reality.
I'm not sure what the answer is, but part of the dilemma is that our communities often have a gap btwn those w/ authority for decision making & those w/ gifts of foresight/discernment.

A huge part of what motivated me to write #allthatsgood was the barrage of misinformation, conspiracy theories, & objectively bad takes that flood us in name of "discernment."

In 2 years since publication, I hate that this book is more relevant than ever.
It also grieves me that, in my experience, the people I share common faith & heritage w/ are so easily duped & so quickly spread such theories... also in the name of discernment.

Perhaps we are no more foolish than others, but why aren't we wiser? And how might we become so?
What have we missed that has left us sitting ducks for manipulation & deceit? Why aren't we able to sort through the noise & see what is good?

Been waiting for this day since @moody first told me about it. If you've been holding off on getting #AllThatsGood, here's your chance!
As a reader, I love a good #ebook sale. And as an author, I love a good ebook sale. Here's why:
At first glance, authors shouldn't like it when their books go on sale b/c they make % of profit. Lower price=lower cut.
