I'm gonna need everyone to quit using #AmericanTaliban and #TexasTaliban--not only are they xenophobic copouts that ignore the role of white American Evangelicalism behind the Texas law, but they also get the timeline mixed up. This form of US Christianity PREDATES the Taliban.

When you can only describe a purely American phenomenon in terms of the bad stuff that happens elsewhere, you're saying you think the bad stuff *belongs* in those other countries. You're saying you think it's always been sunshine and roses here, and injustices here are anomalies.

Oh and by the fucking way, Trump and the GOP don’t (and never did) have a mandate to build their racist ass wall in the first place. The very thought of this and other heinous ideas was why 3 million more Americans voted for Hillary than did Trump. We didn’t vote for this SHIT.

94% of Black women voters had no problem being allies to each other, Hillary Clinton or women in general in 2016. Trump’s in the WH b/c 53% of White women refused to do the same. Behold the self hatred.
Also can we please stop using religion/abortion as an excuse for White women’s self sabotaging alliance with the GOP? Black women are the backbone of the Black Church and you don’t see us voting Republican or perpetuating the lie of “pro-life”. Behold the racism too.
Even these women’s presumption that they should have the power to force pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood upon other women who don’t want it is a function of misogyny and patriarchy. Just because they’re women doesn’t mean they aren’t working in service of men against women.
