#Artsakh/ #NagornoKarabakh is my home. It has been an honor to serve as State Minister for our people, our republic & our unwavering struggle for a free Artsakh.
I want to thank President Haratunyan for our time serving together. While we may have different views on the issues, we have common red lines, which no one can cross –– red lines important to preserve our dignity & ensure #Artsakh is free & #Armenian.
The people of Artsakh have demonstrated their strength in unity and resolve to stand together in their fight for justice and self-respect. While we have accomplished a lot together during this very challenging period, I am confident, we can do much more.

Dear subscribers and guests of the channel! During an operational meeting with the permanent members of the #Russian Security Council, which was held on Friday via video call, Russian President Vladimir #Putin refused to discuss the topic of the second stage of mobilization.
1/13
He stated that no one canceled the mobilization and confirmed that its continuation "is a settled issue."
During the closed part of the narrow-format meeting, the President turned out to be more talkative, making several "progressive" statements.
2/13
#Putin said it was necessary to implement the idea of a quick and effective "special operation" against a neighboring country, where victory can be practically "guaranteed." The President considers #Georgia to be such a country.

Dear subscribers and guests of the channel! Yesterday, #Russian President Vladimir #Putin, quite formally and without much fanfare, ended an informal CIS summit. The leaders of the participating countries managed to visit the State Russian Museum on Tuesday.
1/8
There, #Putin tried to communicate with colleagues in an informal setting. It did not turn out very well, but he did not despair and continued to entertain the guests until the final. Communication with #Lukashenko has become a game of "deceive me" for Putin.
2/8
Everything that #Putin asked #Lukashenko yesterday received a positive response. In such a simple way, Lukashenko once again "dotted the i", promising full integration, troops, weapons and joint campaigns against the "enemy", and help everywhere and in everything, BUT later.

#Russian President Vladimir #Putin had a difficult day yesterday. The night strike on the military airfield in Engels was not the only reason for the President's bad mood.

On the morning of December 26, a video conference between #Putin and the leadership of the military bloc took place exclusively in the form of a monologue by the President, who, in sophisticated forms, using mainly obscene language, explained to the meeting participants...

how wrong they were and that such incidents in the future should be avoided by any price. The President ended the meeting already traditionally - simply disconnecting from the air without giving the "interlocutors" an opportunity to express their position.

We all like our doctors to be caring and supportive, right?

Well, when Oz decided to run for Senate, he abruptly cancelled his show w/ no warning & screwed his staff - leaving them stranded. He didn't care. No loyalty.

Think he'll care about us?

#OnThisDay Sep 15, 1918, the Ottoman Army of Islam captured #Baku. With the ethnic #Azerbaijan'i Turks at their side, they carried out a systematic massacre of the #Armenia'ns in the city, during which its estimated that 15,000 to 20,000 Armenians died.

A terrible panic in Baku ensued once the Turks entered the city. The Armenians crowded the harbor in a frantic effort to escape. Regular Ottoman troops were not allowed to enter the city for 2 days, so that the local irregulars – bashibozuks – would conduct looting and pillaging.
Later, Ottoman troops participated alongside the irregulars & the Azeris of #Baku in the plundering, who then turned their fury against the city's #Armenia'n population. Calls by the German officers to treat the local population with leniency were ignored by Ottoman commanders.

Tamga from Turkish. In Middle Persian and modern Persian, the word would be Nishaan or Neshaan ( Ossetian gakk)

These have an amazing and long history. They might have started as signs for cattle, later for clans & families. Were used by people across Eurasia

THE OLD ARMENIAN "DUCK AND DODGE," AS PRACTICED BY RICHARD HOVANNISIAN, IN A 1983 PBS-TV DEBATE; WHEN THE "PROPAGANDIST PROFESSOR" RESIDES OVER A MONOLOGUE, "1.5 MILLION" ATTAINS THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE; WHEN CAUGHT IN A WORRISOME DIALOGUE, SUDDENLY THE NUMBERS DON'T MATTER:
When asked if the 1.5 million figure is accurate for the number of Armenians killed, Hovannisian said that numbers were not important. He said, "a whole nation died." He asserted that Armenians were moved and lost their way of life in their homeland forever.
Moderator Ungar then turned to Justin McCarthy, Associate Professor of Middle Eastern History at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, and asked if he agreed. McCarthy expressed his concern about the way Armenians present the facts.

The Surp Pırgiç Church in Karaköy, #Istanbul is home to a unique ceremony that takes place once a year. The church was the first #Armenian Catholic church to be consecrated in the Ottoman Empire after the Armenian Catholic millet was recognised by Sultan Mahmud II in 1830.#Thread Image
When the church was first opened in 1834, Istanbul was suffering from a major plague outbreak. A painting of the Virgin Mary & Baby Jesus that was sent to the church as an inaugural gift from the #Vatican was paraded around the streets of Istanbul to ward off the plague. Image
Eventually, as the plague outbreak in the city died down, many attributed this to the miraculous powers of this painting in #SurpPırgiç. Sultan Mahmud II took note of this and gifted a diamond brooch to the church and its congregation. Image

#Istanbul is a city of endless gentrification. The most recent episode in an endless series of urban transformation projects in the city is the demolition of the old brothels on Zürafa Street in Galata. #Thread Image
42 structures are being demolished in and around Zürafa Street. Most of these buildings, which had been used as brothels for decades, had little historical or architectural value. Image
The demolitions are supposed to clear the area from modern structures in order to highlight Byzantine & Ottoman heritage. This is part of an ongoing project to create a so-called “cultural space” in Beyoğlu. Image
