1/ So according to this detailed investigation, #Asifa was repeatedly sedated as she was raped over 7 days. And for some reason, the strip of tablets she was drugged with was, as per police report, "kept under a heap of garbage near an electric pole outside the Devisthan." What?
2/n Report says accused "washed the clothes worn by" #Asifa at the time of her death "to remove the clay and blood stains/sperm" before forensic tests. Did they put it back on her? Do forensics confirm this? And what about forensic report on fluid, hair & evidence on & in her?
1. #Asifa is a Gujjar-Bakerwal, a nomadic community, largely pro-India, anti-militancy. In 1965, a G-B man, Mohd. Din Jagir, spotted a few armed men in Tangmarg, Kashmir. They asked him to arrange Kashmiri clothing for them so that they could sneak in without arousing suspicion
2. But instead, Jagir returned and informed the Police. His info turned out to be crucial. The armed men were Pakistanis, who had infiltrated to launch Op. Gibraltar, a secret Pakistani mission to annex Kashmir. Thanks to Jagir, the mission ended up in failure.
3. The Centre announced a Padma Shri for Jagir. Indira Gandhi is believed to have personally asked him if she could do something for him. Jagir asked for two things: a Philips transistor and intervention with the father of a woman he wanted to marry but had been turned down.
Both Unnao& Kathua rapes r horrific &shameful, perpetrators must be punished severly and swiftly but politicising and giving it a communal color is hampering investigations& delaying justice.
