Westerners probably won't understand them because they don't know the whole cultural context.
Russians will say it's just a coincidence.

But if there are too many coincidences, you can no longer call them coincidences. 1/n
One of the ethnic slurs russians use for Ukrainians is “piggs”. And there are a lot of pigs in #AtomicHeart

The player can kill them and Z symbols will appear on their bodies, which have become the equivalent of the Nazi swastika. 2/n

Remember when #AtomicHeart  fanboys tell me “iT’s NoT aBouT pOliTIc it’s jUsT a GaMe”
Yeah of course. Glad that your game is a total unplayable clusterfuck Image
users iammundfishbot1272763 and robussybuster_374757 said that is a real brand in USSR. Of course, they added that label to the game simply just cause of course they're not implying anything
And when we start our small talk about real brands, let me show you some of them from ruzzia “poor jew”, “obamka” implying to Obama and “Hohol” is a slur word Image

This is a screenshot from the #AtomicHeart game. The drone carrying a flower in the pot. What's wrong with it, you will ask. Well... The flower is Geranium (Герань), do you know what russians call the Iranian drones that are killing civilians in Ukraine? Exactly, ГЕРАНЬ-2 ImageImage
Invaders, occupiers, barbarians. Nothing new.

A short 🧵 on #AtomicHeart. No, nothing has changed, still not buying it. However, there's one thing no one seems to be talking about and that is the developer's ability to deliver, aka "is this game even real?". So let me talk about that for a second... 1/x
First, to clarify my views, I don't think all arguments of people calling to boycott #AtomicHeart are fair. "Would you be ok with a game glorifying Nazi aesthetics?". Guys, it's NOT the same (see photo). I say that as a Pole, and you know our opinion on Soviet Russia... 2/x Image
Also, unless you know how the game ends and what the story is truly about, you cannot say it glorifies anything. A setting is not automatically a glorification. You need to know the context, and you will not know the context until you know the whole story. 3/x Image

There is something everyone needs to understand. The issues being raised about #AtomicHeart aren't about the ethics of you, the gamer, buying the game. It's about the ethics of the publishers and their eagerness to embolden warcrime supporters to make an extra dollar. A 🧵⬇️
First of all: MultiPlatform has an amazing and thorough article documenting the chaotic development practices and close Russian connections enveloping AtomicHeart.
I'll summarize some of its points below to elaborate on. multiplatform.com/2023/01/18/wha…
The Mundfish CEO's name is not Robert Bagratuni as listed on the studio's webpage. It's Maxim Zatsepin, a former Creative Director in the Mail(.)ru group. A company with extremely close ties to the criminal Russian government.

The upcoming #AtomicHeart launch has me thinking about the issue of Russian game studios and how we ought to treat them and their products given the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. A 🧵 1/24

This is a complicated topic and I don’t think there’s a clearly right answer, but I really haven’t seen it discussed much if at all in gaming circles. To be clear, under normal circumstances I would not want to blame or punish the citizens of a country for the actions of their
government, but Russia and Ukraine have both moved to a total war footing. Sadly, I believe that the war is most likely to continue until one side runs out of resources to sustain its war economy. In this context, and with Russian and Belarussian game studios often employing
