We live in a male dominated society where patriarchy is deep rooted. So the #AuratMarch2021 should be supported. But i was a bit shocked when I read a couple of their demands. I would request every participant of the march to read this thread and try to counter my points.

I wish to clear up a few points regarding the position of our women in the East, and how, they compare with the women of the West. In London streets, for example, I see a lot which Londoners do not notice. They are too familiar with the sights to notice subtleties.

یہ کہ ان کے معاملات پر مناسب قانونی کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے۔ ان خواتین نے نہ صرف اپنوں کے لئے آواز اٹھائی ہے بلکہ شیعہ ، بلوچ اور اردو بولنے والے سندھی لاپتہ افراد کے اہل خانہ کو بھی دعوت دی اور ایک پلیٹ فارم مہیا کیا ہے۔

what their biggest problems are, the first answer is always going to be the forced conversions of underage girls & women from their communities.

Voluntary religious conversion, which is recognised as a human right, is a one-sided affair here; it involves force & usually entails

child marriages whereby only religious minorities are seen to be converting - thus proving the extent of how 'voluntary' they are. Although there are girls who choose to willingly convert & boldly testify the same in court, most of the ones who've been forced to convert also..

survivors and their families are often silenced by the criminal justice system - including police, legislature and judiciary - & by society as a whole.

Consequently, these cases often go unregistered because victim-survivors are gaslighted, victim-blamed, slut-shamed..

& risk developing the status of “social pariahs” whilst fighting an uphill battle; the financial legal costs are another hurdle in & of themselves. The guilt is, unfortunately, always associated with the victim-survivor rather than the perpetrator.

This year our A-Z campaign is on Patriarchal Violence. We define patriarchal violence as different forms of verbal, emotional, physical, & economic violence that is perpetuated against women, non-binary folks, and the trans community. #AuratMarch2021 #AtoZofPatriarchalViolence

We believe that Patriarchal Violence is systemic & structural, is perpetuated across societies, cultures, through institutions & the state. Patriarchal Violence often colludes with capitalism, ethnic hate, & discriminations against minorities.

So we see shackling these structures as part of our struggle, & believe that this is what makes our struggle intersectional. We dedicate this campaign to survivors and victims of patriarchal violence, & will remember their pain and terror through this campaign.
