. @RajeAiye Yes. Actually the festival was started to bring about unity between the Saivites & Vaishnavites by Thirumalai Naicker. He did so much for the temples after the ravages of the Islamic invaders. He repaired & made several temples functioning. During his renovation work,
he saw that the temple cars (தேர்) were in a very bad condition. He built two huge Thers, one for Swami, one for Amman using some of the greatest carpenters of that time. The Masi Ther festival was re-started using these new cars. However, he had a challenge. The Thers were too
