The Tories are gaslighting again
The opposite is the case on Northern Ireland - that's why the protocol exists - and Nick Robinson seems ill equipped to challenge #BBCR4today

*Terrorism and domestic violence: a short thread*

I live in Reading, UK, and was shocked to hear first the sirens, then the helicopters, then the terrible news about what happened in #ForburyGardens where I often take my kids to play. "This doesn't happen here", we thought.

I'm a teacher, and hearing of the death of a beloved local teacher, James Furlong, made this more poignant and senseless for me. On the I #bbcr4today report this morning they interviewed an ex-student of his, who spoke movingly of his generosity and enthusiasm.

2/
#bbcr4today also interviewed a police terrorism expert. They talked about there being 40,000 people 'known to the authorities' and the impossibility of surveilling them all. Priorities had to be decided, and risk remains, they sadly agreed.

There is clearly serious work yet to be done to affect any meaningful change within our industry. We welcome @EquityUK acknowledging the reality of racism and denouncing it but, despite our internal efforts, we are disappointed by this statement.
We responded to Fox’s conduct on @bbcquestiontime under our remit as a committee, elected by minority ethnic members, to take action on issues of race. That is what we did. We did not claim to speak for @EquityUK. We did not instruct. We appealed, with one voice, as a committee.
Actions by @EquityUK following our statement, including the deleting of our tweets and locking down of this account, damaged our credibility and left us without a voice, forcing committee members to make personal statements to correct press inaccuracies.

Peter Lilley says (#BBCR4today) that zero tariffs would take minutes to negotiate on a no deal. Here’s an example of why that’s not true.
Fish have zero tariffs. And the U.K. exports much of its fish to the EU27.
But if the EU keeps zero tariffs on U.K. fish, it will want rights to fish in U.K. waters.

This all started because the #MetPolice & #LBRUT couldn't do their day jobs properly & decided to take the law into their own hands. It started as a small cover up 12 years ago but has turned into British State Persecution.

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

#Guardian #Telegraph #DailyMail #GMB #UK
Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

Steris PLC, a company with $2.6 billion in annual revenue, is planning to redomicile from the UK to Ireland due to Brexit. What that means is that, as an Irish company, the Irish tax authorities will collect its taxes going forward and not HMRC. 2/50

The truth about Brexit, the "EU is punishing us" narrative & what "no deal" actually means... (1/19)

The EU isn't punishing the UK for Brexit. We are punishing ourselves. Losing all the benefits of EU membership IS punishment. Just like no longer being able to use the fitness equipment or the weights is punishment for quitting the local gym. 2/19
You might well put on weight because you cancelled your gym membership. But you wouldn't turn around and say "Hey, the gym's punishing me for leaving by making me fat!" That's the consequence of losing your gym membership, not the fault of the gym. 3/19
