Fucking fuming.

One of these 2 people will take charge of the UK in the midst of a climate and ecological emergency.

All evidence points toward the urgent need for government action.

And the BBC ask them what individuals should do?

#BBCOurNextPM #ClimateCrisis #ActNow
A. They are clearly not clued up to advise on what individuals should do.

B. The policies they failed to ask about are the crucial decisions in the midst of a crisis with billions of lives on the line. If they aren't clued up on that, we need to know.
Now there are moments when the media could discuss what individuals should do. But to use #BBCOurNextPM to look at individual action rather than life or death policies in the middle of a crisis is unforgiveable. The media must #TellTheTruth and hold the next PM to account.

Nah F*** that.

I've tolerated the Tory bias of the TV debates as Tory members are the voters BUT:

With the huge damage Brexit is ACTUALLY doing, after Leavers said it would make life better...

How F**KING DARE #BBCOurNextPM weaponise Remain exaggerations and ignore Leave lies!
If you put this crap on national TV, you have to maintain basic standard of reality.

Spinning a narrative that Liz Truss was WRONG to support Remain simply because Cameron's crew exaggerated the damage, while official government analysis says it's been worse than Covid, is NUTS!
And what makes it worse is that @faisalislam has done some absolutely outstanding work to show people the damage of Brexit, so he knows the score more than most.

Truss vs Sunak #BBCOurNextPM

Tonight's debate is ahead of a vote of Tory members, who make up 0.3% of the population

The winner will be the UK's next prime minister

I'll be watching what they have to say about energy and climate change…

Meanwhile, the UK govt's net-zero strategy has been ruled unlawful by the High Court (oops)

The winner of this contest – either Sunak or Truss – will have to sign off on a new strategy by March 2023

Well, Andrew Neil didn't disappoint. Jeremy Hunt came across as indecisive and willing to sacrifice businesses and the lives of those who are poor, but could be in work. The clash with Johnson was intense, and he was evasive, sloppy, and would be a dangerous PM. #BBCOurNextPM
We needed #BBCOurNextPM three weeks ago, shortly after Gove was eliminated from the #ToryLeadeshipContest. It's unfortunate that neither of these men have been sufficiently scrutinised with forensic questions and a determined interviewer like @afneil until today. /2
It's entirely possible that a majority of ballot papers have already been submitted, so #BBCournextPM might have no impact on the result. It might, however, play a part in a potential confidence vote when the next PM takes office. /3

The morning after.

Boris Johnson, the current leader in the race to be the next UK Prime Minister, called for a “standstill” in trading relations with the EU to avoid tariffs & quotas if there’s no deal.

#BBCOurNextPM, June 18, 2019.

bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0… (From 22’50”)

1/10 Quote: I’ll give you the answer. The answer is that there will be no tariffs and there will be no quotas. Because what we want to do is to get a standstill in our current arrangements, under GATT24 or whatever it happens to be, until such time as we have negotiated the FTA. And it’s in the context of that free trade agreement that we come up with the facilitation … [drowned out]
This raises two sets of questions.

1. Timing — when would this be negotiated with the EU? Before or after October 31?
2. Content — what exactly would be “stood still”?

2/10
1. Timing.

We need to remember that there is already a “standstill” deal on the table. It’s the transition period in the Withdrawal Agreement. Yes, it comes under GATT Art24.

So if a new “standstill” is going to be radically different, how long would it take to negotiate?

This is promising.

The leading candidate to be next PM thinks on Oct 31 the UK can leave the EU and immediately the two can keep the status quo under "GATT 24".

The leading candidate is in for a shock. A GATT Art 24 deal has to be negotiated first

(See my blog)

Johnson said a "standstill" post-Oct31 exit ("GATT24"). How does that work?

1. What stands still? Only tariffs? Non-tariff barriers (EU standards/regs)? ECJ adjudication? Services?
2. Can it be negotiated with the EU? Before Oct31?
3. Will EU agree? No👇🏽

Speechless listening to these idiots attempting to become our PM, particularly Johnson. His knowledge of trade, tariffs and the Irish border is unbelievable; he said there won't be any tariffs, mentioning GATT 24 - let's listen to someone who actually knows the truth.....
Here's another one of the cult of Brexit talking bollocks, John Redwood - SIR John! 😂 Knighted for services to the Welsh language no doubt!! His nonsense is followed by Sir Ivan Rogers explaining the facts.....

Quick apology for not being able to live tweet tonight's debate. Family event planned months in advance. Enjoy the downfall of UK society. 👍🏿
For my little brother's birthday celebration, the parents have taken us to see Hamilton. It hasn't even started yet and I've spilt my drink on myself. My brother: Can't wait to see the daily mail headline "Anti-brexit campaigner wets himself during a play about freedom."
Just tuned in to #BBCOurNextPM in the interval....

Wow. Just how big is the expectation gap? And will @BorisJohnson do anything to stop it running out of control, as it did for @theresa_may or David Cameron?

We start with ERG MP Mark Francois in this morning's independent. /1

brexitcentral.com/theresa-mays-d…
@BorisJohnson @theresa_may Withholding the Brexit bill?

Leaving without a deal on WTO terms?

Going straight to negotiating an FTA in a 'no deal' world?

Extolling the virtues of @SteveBakerHW Clean Break Brexit manifest - which I fisk here. /2

I always assume - as I said in that thread - that these people know this isn't serious.

It's "trolling", nothing more. And they just want a 'no deal'. /3
