The tech part in a blockchain / DLT is basically a rule enforcement engine. But any software is!

Differences between a #BINO (blockchain in name only) with a real #blockchain “RB”:
1/ RB operate in environments with no authority
2/ RB’s governance itself is “decentralized”

1/ In regulated B2C or B2B markets, there are already enforcement mechanisms, so you don’t need a blockchain, you only need *applied cryptography* to cryptographically attest who did what and when. It’s about digitalization here. It’s incremental innovation
2/ Rules enforcement is nice, but who defines the rules and how is even more crucial! When one entity (a firm, a government or a consortium) decides the changes to the rules, it’s #BINO decentralization theater. Again here you may need *applied cryptography*, not a blockchain

What the hell is @jeremycorbyn doing?
Why is he enabling #Tory #Brexit?
Is this the final betrayal?
No, it isn't.
It's the predicted effect of decisions taken 2-3 years ago. All things considered, it's not as bad as it could have been (thanks to #StopBrexit crowd).

To understand why, I need to outline 2 important mechanisms that most people, politicians and commentators seem to ignore, dismiss or simply don't get. They have different and somewhat opposite consequences, but are both decisive in the current & foreseeable predicaments.
1st and foremost: the biggest constraint that applies to political decision-making comes from the past decisions & policies.
It is a massive constraint.
Cameron COULD NOT convincingly campaign for #Remain, because his own policies CREATED the discontent channelled by #Leave.

Hopefully not too late to pick out three lines from the Conservative's 2017 manifesto (hard to see how these are consistent with #BINO / #BRINO). 1. "Leaving the European Union also means we will be free to strike our own trade agreements with countries outside the EU."
2. "As we leave the European Union, we will no longer be members of the single market or customs union but we will seek a deep and special partnership including a comprehensive free trade and customs agreement." (2/3)
3. "We believe the UK must seize the unique opportunities it has to forge a new
set of trade and investment relationships around the world, building a global, outwardlooking Britain". (3/3)
