It's so weird that CFTC Commissioner Caroline Pham has deleted this tweet (along with every other chummy reference to FTX, apparently).

Meanwhile, somewhere a small RIA is being referred to Enforcement for not captioning an S&P500 chart as non-investable.

I mean, the regulatory capture and smiley-face corruption here is just breathtaking.
SBF hired former CFTC commissioners Mark Wetjen and Jill Sommers, ‘lobbied’ current ones like Caroline Pham, gave big $ to Dem Senators on Ag Committee (CFTC oversight), all to set up a crypto regulatory regime that would create a deep moat around FTX.

Burn. It. The. Fuck. Down.

A thread on the lapdog CCP-apologist fucks who run the World Health Organization.
It doesn’t really matter how Covid variants are named. Skipping the letter Xi in their naming convention (designed in the first place to eliminate references to Wuhan) to arrive at Omicron is ridiculous, not dangerous.
What’s dangerous is WHO leadership placing Chinese political interests ahead of global health interests, something Tedros and team have done from the start.

Texas Capital Bank knew Bill Hwang was juicing stock by acquiring secret 20% stake, then sold $300m in new stock “mostly to retail investors”. Morgan Stanley was stalking horse for Hwang’s stake AND underwriter for stock sale.

You and I get proctology exams by the SEC over disclosures when we do a private placement for institutional investors.

Texas Capital Bank has a secret 20% owner juicing their stock, sells $300m in a private placement to retail investors, and no one gives a damn.

Fuck this.
And this fantasy that Bill Hwang was just running his own money in a “family office” … LOL

Jim Swartwout, Robinhood’s President and COO, is both trading on MNPI and tipping. This isn’t a gray area. This is black and white.

If this doesn’t matter, nothing matters.

How is it possible that Robinhood senior management is allowed to day-trade stocks?

JFC.

The only members of Congress who should get an early vaccine are the House Speaker & the Senate Prez pro tem.

There's zero "gov't continuity" or "vaccine PR" reason for the umpteenth pol to jump the line.

That includes Rubio and Graham. That includes AOC.

I see that American Airlines fired 19 THOUSAND people today, a few months after their $6 billion bailout.

Did you know that CEO Doug Parker cashed in $200 million in stock-based comp over the past 7 years?

Burn. It. The. Fuck. Down.

From 2014 - 2019, the same years that CEO Doug Parker pocketed $200 million in stock-based comp, American Airlines had *negative* free cash flow of $3.2 billion.

And took on an additional $14 billion in debt.

And bought back $13 billion of its stock.

#BITFD
How did CEO Doug Parker do for his American Airlines shareholders from 2014 - 2019, the years where he pocketed $200 million in stock-based comp?

Over this six year period, AAL stock was up 13%. Not 13% per year, but 13% over SIX YEARS of the best bull market in history.

We've been assaulted by three brutal grifts in just the past week ... three smacks from Bobo and his bag of oranges.

Here's chapter 1 - the ludicrous crony capitalism of the US gov't giving Kodak $765 million for "pharmaceutical supply production".

epsilontheory.com/the-grifters-c…
Kodak board gave Chairman/CEO Jim Continenza an add’l 1.75 million shares on Monday before Trump’s announcement on Tuesday.

This is such bullshit.

A personal thread on Covid-19, healthcare consumption, and … pain.

epsilontheory.com/no-country-for…
For the past five months, ever since I published this note about the biology of the virus and the lies China was publishing about its spread in Wuhan, Covid-19 has been a daily companion.

epsilontheory.com/body-count/
My other daily companion has been pain.

I’ve got the genetics for varicose veins, and unfortunately mine manifest themselves in a nerve-rich area of the body – my ass.

Yes, I have terrible hemorrhoids.

Just heard that my closest childhood friend died yesterday from COVID-19.

But he’s in BFE Alabama, and his family is MAGA all the way, so cause of death will be reported as “stroke, complicated by pneumonia”. Not making this up.

Don’t Test. Don’t Tell.

Even unto death.
#BITFD
The worst part of this isn’t that my friend’s family wants to show their allegiance to Dear Leader by treating their brother/son’s cause of death as a political statement.

No, the worst part is that this is obviously what my friend wanted, too.
In the 1980s, we had a family friend who died of AIDS. His parents told everyone that he died of pneumonia.

This reminds me of that.

It’s the latest incarnation of the agency problem - massive stock issuance to management, masked by the narrative of “Yay, stock buybacks!”.

@EpsilonTheory goes mainstream, with a piece in the FT!

Here's the insider stock-trading history of Andrew Wilson, Electronic Arts CEO. Each red flag is a sale of exercised options and vested RSUs. Even the green flags (net addition to stock holdings) all include a sale of free stock.

I think I found a winner for my next note.
Over the past 3 FYs, Electronic Arts bought back 22.8 million shares for $2.3 billion. Yay, return of capital!

Also over the past 3 FYs, Electronic Arts issued 10.7 million new shares to themselves for $211 million. About 1.5 million shares went to ESOP, rest to management.
