It was Dec 12, 1930, Mumbai.

A freedom fighter, #BabuGenuSaid
inspired by Gandhi's Ahimsa, staged a protest against the transport of a truck carrying foreign-made cloth through the Kalbadevi area.

Babu was an illiterate cotton mill worker & labour unionist,
who bought into Gandhi’s vision of Swadeshi and made it his life’s work to defeat the forces of economic colonialism, using non-violent means.

On this day in 1932, George Frazier, a cloth merchant from Manchester, who owned the consignment of foreign-made clothes, was afforded
protection by the British police.

Babu dared British & stood in front of the truck shouting Gandhi's name, the Bharatiya truck driver refused to move the vehicle on him saying he can't kill his brother, this irritated the British Officer who took the steering in his hands.
