A look at today's wide-ranging @pewscience report on #climatechange, #energy and #environment.
Partisan gaps continue to loom large, but survey goes deep on generations showing how #GenZ, #Millennials stand out for engagement on climate
@pewresearch 1/x
Climate change is viewed as an issue that needs attention today and majorities view government, industry -- and even 'ordinary Americans' -- as doing 'too little' to help reduce its effects.
Americans continue to prioritize alternative energy development (like wind and solar) over fossil fuels, but public is roughly divided over phasing out gas-powered cars by 2035; opposes eliminating fossil fuels from energy picture altogether

For the record. Among the four major candidates contending for the Democratic presidential nomination, only 1 is a #Boomer. That's Warren, born in 1949. Biden, Bloomberg, & Sanders are all pre-boomers. The #babyboomer generation is defined as those born from 1946-64, post-war.
#Biden and #Bloomberg were both born in 1942, during the war. Sanders was born in 1941, just before US involvement in the war began.

We've had four #babyboomer presidents: #Clinton, #GWBush, and #Trump, all born in '46, and #Obama, born in 1961.
Interestingly, we've had no presidents born in the 1950s, which is sort of the heart of the #babyboomer BOOM!

Ever notice that Han Solo's arc in the original Star Wars trilogy is basically an allegory for the pop-cultural conception of average, middle-class American masculinity? I just thought of this. Consider... 1/4
Star Wars: Han Solo's in his 20s. Young. Vital. Virile. On the surface, he's a hot dude with no attachments beyond his shitty car and his great dog. Inside he's barely holding it together. Beset by loneliness and anxiety. Has zero credit and crushing debt. 2/4
ESB: Han Solo's in his 30s and wrestling with responsibility and commitment. He's a few years into a career, and met a great girl who's too good for him. His buddy is way more successful, but a total sellout. By the end, he's literally frozen and owned by his debts. 3/4
