2/ If it is a "right to exercise a personal choice" it necessarily means that NO public organization may do anything in that sphere since the law refers to private citizens.
3/ In 2002 I wrote a science education story for a Brazilian science news magazine called Galileu. It was about how "incredible" and "dangerous" it was that there was such a thing as a creationist movement in the USA.

1/ How pop culture can help expats understand what Americans call "real America" and brace for it.

If you are an expat like me, chances are that you ended up as a #BaffledImmigrant as well.
2/ Curiously, we can read almost daily some essay or new book on the quest for "real America". Are they - the locals - also baffled? No, they are not. They are frustrated, resentful and unhappy with what they see.

2/ So, like a well-behaved #BaffledImmigrant, I decided to learn something about the #HatchAct . You know, it might come in handy during a civics test that we, aliens, must take. Here's what I found:

2/ Apparently, this has been a concern for the mental health community for a while. Take a look at this 2016 issue of the Journal of Medical Regulation:

3/ In 2011, this repulsive Republican presidential (then) hopeful from Minnesota, Rep. Michele Bachmann, was busted because the couple owned a conversion clinic.

1 / The #BaffledImmigrant is always a bit over-baffled with the cluelessness concerning things like "socialism", "capitalism", "redistributivism", "privatization" and other basic concepts. Let's start with an experiment. Google "classic socialism books". This is going to show up:
2 / Most of them were written in the late XIXth and early XXth century, when the world and the economy were very different. Most of us, old folks who grew up under dictatorships and were involved in organized action to bring them down read all of them.

3 / You can download most of them for free in the many online resources available. Below is one. But why would you read that old stuff?
