Confirmed: the boroughs of Wigan and Bolton, and parts of Bury and Salford, will next year become the first areas in England to see bus services return to public control.

This will take place nine months from now on 24 September 2023.

The main operator for Wigan and Bolton will be @gnwbus.

Go will become a full member of our Good Employment Charter within a year and a 100% Real Living Wage employer.

The smaller franchises will be operated by @DiamondBusNW.

Great to visit Bolton Interchange today and see first hand the new buses that will be sweeping Greater Manchester soon

Delighted that under @AndyBurnhamGM's stewardship GM is finally getting an integrated transport system in the form of the #BeeNetwork
It was great to chat to staff from @OfficialTfGM on the ground (Michael, Donna, and Jade) about the ambitious plans

They're working to deliver an integrated bus and tram transport system by 2024 and to include trains by 2030, feeding into a wider net zero goal by 2038
