The Solidarity Campaign to Protect the #BeirutPort Silos called for a vigil today, Wednesday, at 7 pm, to protest the relevant officials' failure to extinguish a fire that broke out in the mounds of wheat and rubble in front of the northern part of the silos building.

The campaign cited the suspicious incident as it renewed its call to reverse the decision to demolish the silos, and to reinforce them instead of neglecting the building’s perimeter –again–, and causing new disasters.

Lebanese local sources reporting a massive explosion in the southern village Ain-Qana, in the Nabatieh Governorate.

This is a thread about #beirutport explosion, weighing in from my long experience in managing operations and facilities. PS: things might turn a bit technical >>>
Every facility should have a roles and responsibilities matrix (R&R), that's how everybody knows what to do when they arrive to work. and That’s why they know whom to call when the shit hits the fan.
The R&R is also coupled with escalation matrix with multiple levels so when you call a supposedly responsible person, and they don't answer / react in a timely manner, the escalation matrix tells you whom to call next / how / and when / and how frequently
