I wish to express my deep concern by how much our country is being polluted daily with falsehoods in media that have the potential to: endanger national peace, stability and unity; discourage domestic and foreign direct investment, and disrupt gains made on our devpt priorities.
Evidently, fake news not only affects Government, but also all citizens and those spreading them.
In the past, I restrained myself from responding to fabrications based on the hope that our reporters will rise above fake news, and focus their energies on substantive issues which are key to the attainment of national development priorities espoused in the 7NDP and Vision 2030.

I have been reading the various posts on the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Bill No. 10 of 2019 and would like to do a thread highlighting reservations with the Bill. @LindaKasonde @LauraMiti @nalucha_ziba @CofZambia @PamChisanga #Bill10 #Zambia
Important to note before going into the content of Bill 10 is what a Constitution is. It is in the case of Zambia a document that creates the State Organs and State institutions, defines their power and authority and describes their interaction with each other and the individual.
The Constitution binds all persons, State Organs and State Institutions. Critical to any constitutional democracy is the limits it places on all people, State Organs and State Institutions. It is the underlying basis of the country's legal system.

1. Seems many people don't know much about #Bill10 & changes that it would bring. I went through it & added a few mini descriptions/comments to certain highlighted provisions. The idea is to help those who don't understand so they can form their own informed & independent opinion
2. The Constitution is our supreme authority but it derives its power & legitimacy from the people as a whole. Consequently, Zambians need to fully understand any proposed changes so that they can properly choose on their own whether to support or protest the changes
3. A large number of people avoid taking an interest in such matters as it is viewed as a political issue. It is a matter that affects everyone regardless of political affiliation & must be handled with objectivity and impartiality.
