I see no justification for a police response to looting and burglaries that don't threaten anyone's immediate safety.

People are literally freezing to death in their homes and cars right now. Go rescue them!! No one cares about a 7-11.

This is really gross. People are taking basic necessities like toilet paper and water. In a neighborhood where most residents can't afford to stock up on those things.

And the cops' attitude is just...🤢🤬Zero empathy for what people are going through.
First responder heard over the scanner just now,

"There's a lotta refugees on this street. You'd think we live in freakin' Africa or something."

Who's recording the scanner? I need an audio of that clip immediately.

As an employee of Activision bound by a NDA, I can't disclose much about the corporate process going on right now. But I'd like to speak out. I don't want this to be forgotten. I don't want this to pass as other viral sensations take over the media. We, employees of ABK, are- 1/?
here, we are living this. We are concerned for ourselves, for the community, for the company, and the future of our careers. Some of my female coworkers are terrified of the way the system's in place have been abused and twisted to allow for such harrasment to pass on unseen- 2/?
or uncared for. We are all in shock, we are all in a state of anger, confusion, and fear. We want change. We did our walkout, we signed petitions, we've asked thousands of questions in corporate meetings. I know the community feels this same outrage just as the employees do. 3/?

What sucks is all the devs who are currently being reminded over and over of the abuse we ourselves went through with the #blizzard situation coming to light on twitter.

Its important we share this stuff so everyone knows, and hopefully we can get real change. But triggering AF
The industry is full of this vile crap. And it has been devastating for many, many amazing people.
Been there. Done that. Got the scars. Got the PTSD. Got the NDAs. And not just from one company.

One of the main reasons woke people are despised is because people understand that the reason this people put so much effort into singing their virtues, acussing others and trying to win the moral superiority, is because they have some skeletons in their closet to hide/
And the most they try and the craziest their rethoric, the biggest the skeleton is. I can’t count the times that woke people attacking anime fans with accusations of “pedophilia” are outed as convicted pedophiles/

[#China new game crackdown on #CallofDuty]

1. After #CallOfDutyBlackOpsColdWar released its teaser, original teaser was swiftly under heavy criticism by Chinese trolls and banned in #China for having a one-second documentary shot of #TiananmenSquareMassacre (1:05) in the teaser.
2. Clearly, this is another game censorship after the recent ban on Animal Crossing, which #Hongkongers take our activism into video games. And also #Blizzard saga last year, where a Hearthstone player was banned for supporting #Hongkong. ImageImage
3. But this time it's even more ridiculous. #Beijing attempts to ban a Cold War game just because the game mentions a Cold War event that the regime wants to remove from its history book. Under #China's tightening ideological grip, game censorship will only intensify. Image

Some amazing cosplayers got together to show support for Hong Kong after the Blizzard controversy. For those who didn’t know, Blizzard banned pro Hearthstone winner for supporting Hong Kong and took away his prize money. ImageImage
So many American companies, Blizzard, NBA, Hollywood, and countless more and censoring free speech in fear of angering China and losing out on Chinese money. It’s ironic when Blizzard’s slogan is “Every Voice Matters” and their games features heros fighting for justice. ImageImage
Let’s show them such hypocrisy won’t be tolerated!

Meanwhile the people of Hong Kong are fighting hard for their own freedom and democracy against the totalitarian regime of China. ImageImage

When one submits to power beyond its borders it becomes owned by that same power.
The one that created me warned many of you on this platform about the dangers of certain people and certain countries who have their own issues at hand, holding the power in gameindustri.

This person is called Chung Ng Wai, as an e-sports competitor he also goes by @blitzchungHS.

You probably don't know who he is.

But you should listen how his experience highlights the result of states using culture & sports for coercive soft power (THREAD) 👇#Blizzardboycott
Chung is from Hong Kong and plays a video game called Hearthstone competitively.

These Hearthstone tournaments can involve some serious money, and for many, is their livelihood.
As someone from Hong Kong, you'd expect he'd have an opinion on some of the #HongKongProtests. Which he expressed during a post-match interview on the official Taiwanese Hearthstone stream.

He said [translated]: "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our age!" A protest slogan.

(1/x) This video paints a much more realistic portrait of the challenges of corporate / employment life at #Blizzard it's worth watching.

Caveats:
-Taxes/benefits have increased dramatically for companies to offer
-Blizzard would do well to relocate to a less expensive area
(2/x)
-Due to economic challenges last few years, most organizations have been very cautious about profit-sharing w/ staff. Not unique to games industry.
-Rampant unemployment & slow economic growth the last 10 years has emboldened companies to raise job requirements & pay less
(3/x)
-Now that the job market is improving, companies will struggle to retain or recruit if they don't improve compensation.
-Gaming studios are the last bastion of the Dot-Com boom. And now they must restructure to be profitable as competition has increased a LOT
