We are being told that #B11529, AKA the #BotswanaVariant is spreading fast; that it came from Botswana; that it has multiple mutations including two furin cleavage site mutations.

I invite you to read this #COptiGate thread and question if the suggested narrative is realistic.

In other words:
IF the research paper I shared is correct, than it is my understanding that from the current limited information we have about the #B11529 AKA as #BotswanaVariant it seems unlikely to be a result of an evolutionary pressure.
Would love to hear an opposite opinion.
