However, known to a few, Pakistani Submarine Ghazi was already on the prowl on the Eastern coast of India since end-Nov - its target, the aircraft carrier #INSVikrant - the pride of #IndianNavy (2/n).

In fact, from 27 Nov onwards, PNS Ghazi hung around 5-10 miles off the harbour entrance, armed with torpedoes & mines, waiting for Vikrant.
Did Ghazi get its target? Or did Vikrant manage to counter the deadly submarine?

Once again, #Assam is badly hit by the floods. Despite an annual happening, the NE state has struggled to minimize the impact of floods on human life and property. We dedicate our #SundayThread to understand and share about #AssamFloods. We care about Assam!

Various news reports states that in more than 22 of its 33 districts, more than 13 lakh people have been affected. A report by NDTV states that more than 35 people have died till date by flood & related incidents.

@News18India reports that Barpeta is the worst affected district with nearly 8.60 lakh people impacted by the floodwater, South Salmara is the second in line with 1.95 lakh people, Goalpara is next with 94,000 persons and Morigaon with plus 62,000 people.

The demand for #BogibeelBridge started in early 1960s. Even the Chinese aggression couldn't wake successive #Congress govts to move an inch towards realising people's dream of a much needed bridge.
People struggled for decades, students fought with successive Congress govts but they wont blink. Ultimately, it took the might of #AssamAgitation to take note of #BogibeelBridge demand.
1985: #Assam Accord was signed whereby #BogibeelBridge was committed by #Congress government led by then Prime Minister late #RajivGandhi. A demand - among many others - that was acknowledged after martyrdom of 855 young students of #Assam
