The list of concerns I have with this article cannot be contained to one tweet but let's start with a few.
1) WinGate was an accredited program until only this year. It is likely the horrific assault occurred while accredited. Why this was omitted from the article but mentioning the program is currently not unaccredited is worrying.
2) The article mentions that accredited #WildernessTherapy programs achieve 424% better outcomes than "treatment as usual" [aka anything but wilderness]. The problems with this study are endless and no #therapy is 424% more effective than doing absolutely nothing.

Agape has a long history of alleged abuse.

A 1pm hearing today was set to determine the fate of #Agape but reports from @RobertBucklin8 and @Batmanda4ever indicate this has been moved to Monday morning. Will update as I learn more.

In the #juvenilejustice system, things aren't any better. Youth in #Texas spend all but 30 minutes in #isolation and have resorted to using water bottles as toilets because there aren't enough staff to take them out of their cells. Texas' #childwelfare system is in shambles, too

I was 11 when I was forced to visit my new stepmom for a “family meeting” at the psych hospital, where she was staying for depression.
I said a typical 11yo comment: “I hate my stepmom.” I wanted to go home.
