Thread. At spice garden bus stop. 8.39 am. 500 CA was waiting and about to leave. This stretch on old airport road does not have #BusPriorityLane yet. So will start the actual timer, once I enter the ORR (1/n)
Reached Marathahalli bridge. 8.47 AM. 8 mins just to climb up the bridge. At the M'halli bridge bus stop. Waiting, waiting, waiting to leave (2/n). Left bus stop, 8.50 AM (2/n).
Reaching the service road entry to ORR on Marathahalli. There is a small pile up here. Right at the junction bus lane is blocked by a private bus (2/n) and a car which swerved into the bus lane coolly to stop

Observations below:
1. Lack of proper/visible signages - road signages. Length, frequency needs to be improved.
- "Kannada signages missing"
2. Good to see many stops and junctions with BMTC & BTP staff regulating in respective places.

3. Saved approx 15 mins compared to previous recce(refer image), but need more data points to attribute it to #BPL though.
4. Good to see most buses were overcrowded - so 'will people take bus?' debate should end and start 'how to make bus more effective and efficient'.

Took a PT to office today at 7:05am(matched with regular cab time)- clocked 110m approx, about 35-25mins more than what I take in cab which I hope the #BusPriorityLane will reduce once it's complete!

0/ #BusPriorityLane was monitored at the ends by @BMTC_BENGALURU or @BlrCityPolice staff, but the tape isnt good enough for our fellow Bengalurean 2-wheelers and the private bus drivers 😞 - @BBMPCOMM @cpblr should consider chain or some metal strip.
1/ Most bus stops were monitored by Traffic cops and BMTC staff to ensure access and clear non-bus vehicles at bus bay - so a good start but needs more comprehensive/robust preparation - 🤞🤞🤞
