Specifically, the superior horns of the thyroid cartilage - the pressure could’ve caused a bilateral or unilateral fracture of the superior horns. I have read several articles & this is strong evidence which is indicative of homicidal strangulation.

The large, red spot is superficial to two major blood vessels (carotid a. & jugular v.) & a major cranial nerve (vagus n.). This could’ve been caused by pressure from the assailants finger. The small, red spots appear to be petechial haemorrhages.
