Me and @thesgem spent the weekend @startrektour to visit beautiful replica sets of the USS Enterprise circa 1966 and to wish @WilliamShatner a 90th #HappyBirthday. This was non-essential travel to the US for <60 hours. Here is my #Covid_19 thread FYI /1
@TheSGEM bought the tickets months ago when we fully expected to travel w/o restrictions. Sadly, #Covid_19 and the #DeltaVariant meant US/Canada border restrictions remain in place. What follows is what we had to do be able to go and how it went. /2
Cross border travel by land is more challenging but not impossible, so air travel was option 1. Our destination was Ticonderoga in Eastern NY State. The closest intl airport is Burlington VT. Toronto-Burlington flight options are few and involve weird stops in DC or Detroit. /3

THREAD: Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA) will procure Sinopharm #COVID19 vaccines as a supplementary option to the govt’s vaccine rollout, which is more and more criticized for being chaotic. But even more chaotic was the news of a company claiming to supply to them…
1) Background: CRA consists of medical research centers and is chaired by Princess Chulabhorn. Royal Gazette announced this week that it can procure #COIVD19 vaccines. It’s seen as a slight against the govt’s increasingly messy mass vaccine policy, set to start Jun 7.

In March we (the UK population) had to make drastic changes to our behaviour to protect the NHS because #COIVD19 cases were rising quickly and many people were infected. Right now, rates are rising slowly and far fewer people are infected. (1/3)
As a population, we have the opportunity now to make relatively modest changes to current behaviour to reverse that slow rise. The sooner we make those changes, the better. (2/3)
Based on everything we know, if we don’t make changes, numbers of cases will continue to rise until the NHS is under direct threat again. (3/3)

2例新增本土個案中，一名為北部50多歲女性社區保全（案336），近期無出國史。3月17日出現喉嚨痛、流鼻水，26日、30日因發燒兩度到診所就醫都未改善，30日當天再至醫院診斷出肺炎，隨即住院採檢。
2例新增本土個案中，一名為北部50多歲女性社區保全（案336），近期無出國史。3月17日出現喉嚨痛、流鼻水，26日、30日因發燒兩度到診所就醫都未改善，30日當天再至醫院診斷出肺炎，隨即住院採檢。
另一名為北部50多歲男性（案335）。指揮中心發言人莊人祥表示，該案3月20日與自印尼返國確診者案291喝咖啡1小時，23日起出現腹瀉，以為是腸胃炎，分別於23日、27日二度去診所就醫都無改善。29日得知案291確診，31日持續腹瀉前往醫院，告知為確診者接觸者，立即住院採檢。
此次境外移入案例中，有兩起4人以上的群聚感染。一是一名30多歲女性（案334），1月前往加拿大就學，3月7日至19日前往美國自助旅遊，該團10人中，加上此案已有4人確診（案182、303、304）。

11º dia após o primeiro caso detetado, 112 casos confirmados. Medidas de contenção anunciadas pelo governo não terão efeitos a curto prazo mas serão importantes a longo prazo. Sejam conscientes, fiquem em casa.
Para reduzir a margem de erro corrigi a projeção do aumento diário em 33% tendo em conta os dois primeiros dias e não apenas o primeiro. Curva azul serve de projeção para o que poderá ser os próximos 4 dias.
