A total disregard for COVID protocols will hasten the 3rd wave of the pandemic, the Delhi High Court warned today noting violations in Delhi following easing of curbs. The court has asked the Centre and the Delhi govt to submit status reports over this.
newsbytesapp.com/news/india/del…
The HC has took suo motu cognizance of the issue after a doctor from Delhi's AIIMS shared images of overcrowded markets. The court asked govt to take strict measures against violators and sensitize sellers. It also directed to deploy police in markets to enforce social distancing
"The memory of the second wave has not left us, yet people behave in this manner. This is very unfortunate," a bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Asha Menon commented. "There is a need for strict measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 infection." #covidupdates

A made-in-India COVID vaccine, developed by Hyderabad-based firm Biological E could be 90% effective against COVID-19, an expert from a government advisory panel said. Dr. NK Arora said the vaccine is in phase three trials and could be available by October
newsbytesapp.com/news/india/bio… Image
Dr. Arora also added, "Bio E will be out likely in October with an efficacy matching Novavax's. In other words, 90 percent. They are moving to stage three trials soon (sic)," He also chairs the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI). #covidupdates Image
Biological E's vaccine, branded Corbevax, contains spike protein part of novel coronavirus. When the spike protein is injected, the body generates an immune response against it, thus helping the recipient fight off illness if they are exposed to the infection #COVIDVaccination Image

#Plasmadonation..one of the most used term nowadays, ofcorse this arouses lots of queries in a donor's mind..

Among the 3 categories of COVID patients (severe, moderate ,mild), plasma therapy is suggested for patients who have been moderately infected.Patients with mild condition often recover easily themselves, whereas the chances of recovery in a severely-infected patient are slim.
When one contracts an infection, especially a viral infection, their recovery depends on the production of antibodies to fight the antigen ( which in the current case, is COVID-19). These antibodies are present in the recovered person’s blood for a few weeks aftr recovery.

Please share this thread as much as you can:Surging infections signal it’s inevitable India will have world’s largest #COVID19 outbreak & arriving with a vengeance in vast hinterland & it seems inevitable India will at some point overtake the US to have the most cases globally.
Mumbai:Novel coronavirus seemed like a distant problem in Boisar,a small factory town about two hours from Mumbai, until Daniel Tribhuvan died. 35-year-old tutor started feeling feverish in April, while bringing his father home from a chemotherapy in the Indian financial capital.
When a test confirmed Tribhuvan was infected, the local health system’s reaction was shambolic. After he checked into a public hospital, the first thing they did was try to pawn him off to a private facility in Mumbai. #COVID19 @MoHFW_INDIA

1/2 #CovidUpdates #France's "spike" is an accounting artefact. One-day sudden increase in hospital and ICU occupancy on 27th August (hosp and rea) accompanied by equally large increase in released patients (rad) & deaths in hospital (dc).
2/2 Previous to this data release, the relevant figures on gouvernement.fr/info-coronavir… were blank (see screenshot, taken 28 August 16:34 CET).
3. Note that the cumulative no. of dead (dc) suddenly goes up to 40092, then down again. Hopefully data will be cleaned. Until then, we'll have to deal with sensational headlines about spikes by semi-numerate journalists.

P.S. France's data readability is a shambles.

Can we please start a movement to stop the use of "recovered" when discussing COVID-19 positive individuals that are outside of the 14 day window? Language matters here. I'm seeing too many people online that are using this number to justify not taking the virus seriously.
In Oklahoma the term "Recovered" as defined by @HealthyOklahoma means an individual has made it to the end of the 14 day time period and isn't 1) dead or 2) still hospitalized. This doesn't speak to the long term health ramifications that are present far after this acute phase.
Many people that are documented as "recovered" are experiencing symptoms such as: fatigue, a racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, achy joints, foggy thinking, a persistent loss of sense of smell, and damage to the heart, lungs, kidneys, and brain.

An open letter to @PMOIndia @narendramodi

As the number of cases rage to 700k+, with all our major cities under the firm grip of virus, it is imperative that we consider and take all emergency measures in our arsenal!

We have one very important tool completely ignored.
#Ivermectin a FDA approved "Wonder Drug", already in use for multiple Mass Drug Administration Programs worldwide & even in India, has shown amazing potential in reducing the viral load of #COVIDー19

Multiple clinical trials are already underway, and all of them show +ve result
A comparative study with #HCQ in South Florida, showed ~40% reduced mortality when patients were treated with #Ivermectin!

Another in Bangladesh shows 100% recovery rate on patients treated with #ivermectin Ivermectin.

@HarisBaig16662 @HarrisRichard77 We started observing this trend at the end of last month when we saw that the number of patients requiring emergency treatment had declined from 1,800-2,000 to 600-700 a day,” a critical care specialist at the JPMC told The News.(8)
@HarisBaig16662 @HarrisRichard77 But the number of people who either were dead on arrival or died within a couple of hours after their arrival increased with every passing day. Initially, we didn’t pay any heed, but now we’re seeing a pattern. And this is also being reported by other hospitals,” he shared.(9)
@HarisBaig16662 @HarrisRichard77 The doctor added he started noticing the unusual pattern of DOA and near-death patients from March 31, when seven bodies were brought in—of which 1 death was due to a road accident—and seven other patients who were brought in alive died before they could be moved to the wards(10)
