THREAD

To help you understand why refusing insurance coverage for unvaccinated people isn’t a solution.

It would devastate the healthcare system.

Continue reading to understand why. /1
EMTALA laws require hospitals to treat EMC (emergency medical conditions). That care must be continued until EMC has resolved or stabilized enough for the pt to take care of themselves at home. Hospitals cannot absorb that cost. /2

acep.org/life-as-a-phys…
Forcing people to pay higher premiums would only result in them being unable to afford insurance, so they just wouldn’t get it. The result would be the same: hospitals could not absorb the costs. The healthcare system would fall apart. /3

#VaccinationForAll
The @MoHFW_INDIA has allowed on-site registration for the 18-44 age group. This is limited to Government #COVIDVaccination centers (CVCs) at the present moment.

But this is a mere eyewash because-
1.This has been left to the discretion of the respective state/ UT governments
2.This shall be implemented only if vaccine has been left unutilised from online registrations and that too at Government CVCs.
#VaccineFor18Plus #VaccineForAll
While this has been stated in a press release, the #CoWIN website’s FAQs still state that online registration is mandatory for 18-44 age group.

It just took 12 hours for a family's life to go haywire. This is a #COVID19 horror story from #Hyderabad that left me gutted. This is something which all #CovidWarriors go through behind the scenes of SOS calls.
Father was ex-employee in #Telangana secretariat, mom a housewife, son & daughter in college. All diagnosed with #COVID19 around the same time & were in home quarantine. Last Saturday, mom developed breathing problems. After using references got admitted to a hosp in Kukatpally.
Dad develops complications in a few hours but doesn't get bed in the same hospital. Contacts worked out to get him a bed by night in a hospital in Banjara Hills.

[Suo Motu COVID-19]

Justice DY Chandrachud led three-judge bench of Supreme Court to resume hearing its suo motu case regarding supply of essential medicines, drugs, vaccines during the #COVID19 pandemic

#SupremeCourt #pandemic #suomotu
Supreme Court in its earlier order had directed the Central government to clarify the basis and rationale on which COVID-19 vaccines are being priced in the country
#supremecourtofindia #covid19 #pandemic
The top court had maintained that during a national crisis it cannot remain a mute spectator. But it clarified that it was not hearing the case to supplant the high courts.

I think we all contributed something somewhere this yr and last yr
We have lost something too. Somewhere
We have actively contributed to the society..
The state govt must recognise us. This will boost our work.
@Umm_e_Meeran @MushtaqAnsari80 @RakhangeBolto @imMAK02
Many treat us like we work for govt. We aren't. All it started accidentally. We are common people like you guys. Only thing what we did was we approached right people for help. It's been more than year. We constantly have done many things by the grace of Almighty.
Our work ranged from Food ration, medical help during pandemics, migrant workers transports, food supplies in various states, Highway food help, getting work done by govt. Officials of a particular area. Etc
We need a platform now.

The timeliness of the webinar can be gauged by the increasing number of #COVID19 related infections and fatalities within the police force. Data captured by @IPF_ORG as on 30 July 2020 is indicative of this: (2/n)

There are so many housing socities in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad who have mobilised resources and manpower to help the needy, migrants and even stray dogs during the Lockdown.

Let's call them the para-#COVIDWarriors
Here are examples from Hinjawadi, Thergaon and NIBM Road
From giving lunch packets to ration kits, these residential clusters of Pune pitched in to help nearby labourers, workers and those who lost their jobs due to the lockdown and subsequent economic inactivity.
#Pune #COVIDWarriors
In #Hinjawadi, Pune's IT hub, a sprawling township having around 4k flats by the name of Blue Ridge became actively involved in helping others after the lockdown.
The security staff and their family members were given the vacant flats to live on temp basis.

Must admit I was a bit apprehensive about this military show of appreciation for #CovidWarriors ....
And that press briefing with the COD & three Chiefs didn’t exactly help assuage the uneasy newness of it all.
This morning however, received a WhatsApp message requesting the conference call scheduled for 9.30 am among supervisors, contractors & myself to discuss work & the graded opening tomorrow to be postponed by 90 mins or whenever the flypast gets over !
The general reaction thereafter on the conference call was of awe & respect.

In the words of my two most articulate co workers....
- Itne bade afsirron ne aake itna samman diya. Mera bhai hospital main kaam karta hai aur 2 hafte se ghar nahi aaya hai

Santosh Solanki, a ward assistant at the Naidu Infectious Diseases Hospital, Pune has been serving patients amidst the Covid pandemic. During the swine-flu outbreak as well, he was one of the many faceless staffers who worked from morning till late at night.
While doctors and nurses are often recognised for their work, seldom are ward assistants or orderlies given any credit. Yet, staffers like Solanki continue to serve the patients selflessly. Even Solanki’s mother was a cleaning staff at the hospital, so was his grandmother.
Solanki says, “There are times when we are treated badly by patients or their family members, but I have no regrets. Rich or poor, we are all humans. The disease doesn’t discriminate. We know that they are under tremendous stress. So, we always respond to all patients politely.”

We need #Chowkidars now. You can call them #CovidWarriors or #CitizenHeroes.

Especially after seeing the quality of people leading #NITIAayog & creating policies for future of India.

People please join me in providing thought leadership to crenulate Indians from mediocrity.
Stop celebrating mediocrity. If something or someone is really good he/she/it cannot be hidden for long. Sooner or later people have no choice but to notice good capabilities.

Those of you capable of delivering come out in the open. Talk to us directly so that we can try to help
Going forward we will be creating a team of "resource persons" who can evaluate your work & help you in improve. I will be starting with medical equipment and allied devices used in hospitals.

I request others to join me in making entrepreneurship easy for technocrats.
