1/ #ME: Feeling a way about the incuriosity/obvious bias in the press. Thought I'd annotate an article with my thoughts/analysis.
2/ #CPS: The CTU won’t agree to the money until it gets the other items on what Jackson calls its “social justice bargaining” agenda.

#ME How do Black and Brown children get anything w/o a justice oriented agenda? Or, a demand? Better question: Why don’t they already have it?
3/ #CPS: That includes everything from affordable housing , a dramatic increase in “community schools”, enforceable caps on class size, mandatory hiring of support personnel written into the contract and more teacher prep time with potential to shorten the school day.

Why mislead the public @chicagosmayor ? Especially when there are receipts. #Twill #Thread @CTULocal1 #CTU
See, the number they are using to mislead parents is wrong - blatantly wrong. It comes from a grant request. To come to that number the agency took every student and social worker in schools. Except there is one huge problem with that strategy...
Some states don’t even have school social workers. Take Nevada - it isn’t even a licensed profession. That isn’t a national school average - that’s just lazy statistics.

1) The abhorrent working conditions caused by decades of disinvestment & budget cuts along with growing administrative bullying/abuse... @chicagosmayor @janicejackson @CTULocal1…
@chicagosmayor @janicejackson @CTULocal1 These realities MUST be changed to address the massive teacher shortage & sub crisis. The problem is WORKING CONDITIONS. No resources, dangerously insufficient staffing, large class sizes, too many significant student needs in one space. Look to our @CTULocal1 contract demands!
@chicagosmayor @janicejackson @CTULocal1 Your school ratings policy & student-based budgeting policy have exacerbated these inequalities. A poor school rating sends a school spiraling down towards a loss in student population, which leads to a loss of funding. Admins react with abuse instead of support.
