@BCCourtofAppeal is set to release its Reasons for Judgment in #Cambie Surgeries Corporation v. BC tomorrow am. BCHC & @CdnDrs4Medicare are intervenors in the case and will be available for comment. We are hopeful that the BC Supreme Court's 2020 landmark verdict will be upheld.
The BC Supreme Court ruled against Cambie Surgeries Corporation on September 10, 2020 in a landmark decision. At over 800 pages, it was one of the most comprehensive and longest verdicts in BC Supreme Court history. #SaveMedicare
The Court found that the evidence overwhelmingly showed that a duplicative private health care system would drain our public health care system leaving only the healthy & wealthy to benefit.
