Exportación de jugadores (transferidos, cedidos o agentes libres) de las Américas hacia Europa entre invierno y verano de este año:

72 🇺🇸 #MLS
67 🇧🇷 Brasileirao
37 🇦🇷 Liga AFA
27 🇺🇸 #USL
16 🇨🇦 #CanPL
14 🇺🇾 Primera
13 🇨🇴 DiMayor
11 🇲🇽 Liga MX
9 🇪🇨 Serie A
2 🇺🇸 #NCAA
#CanPL

Coming tweet stream/storm: Today's craziness brings to a head what we've been seeing in Canadian Soccer for years. We should have seen it coming. #CanMNT #CanadaSoccer
In Canada, soccer is going in two vastly different directions at the same time. The #CanMNT qualifies for Qatar. The #CanWNT wins gold. But, even before COVID, player numbers were down in Canada. And, there has been a stunning lack of success for the pro game in this country.
So, as the national teams succeed, domestic support for the game isn't there. #CanPL has failed, terribly, to move the needle. There's less interest in MLS than there was even five years ago.

Crunching some twitter numbers for the #CanPL final. I don't want to believe it, but @onesoccer has a clear statistical bias towards Forge when tweeting about this final. And it's not even close. Will post more about it in a bit.
It's worrying enough that I'm going to dig quite a bit deeper to see if this is a problem on the league's social media too
The numbers are so skewed that I had to check and see if @Pacificfccpl had a social media presence. One Soccer and CanPL didn't retweet *any* Pacific tweets since Nov 29. Not 1. Forge on the other hand got a handful about the Championship alone.

Very unpopular opinion but after analyzing the #CanM17 WC performance and discussions after being predominately “the best kids aren’t in the 3 academies” we completely disagree and these opinions even though partially true for the future. The best 2002’s/2003’s were selected
2/11

The players selected just didn’t represent the 3 academies but were actually scouted from surrounding communities around Canada. Prime example Fachinerri the starting CB is originally from Windsor, ON and is on the VANCOUVER whitecaps residential academy.

Canada Soccer doesn’t necessarily have all the resources (money) to scout every single youth league in Canada but with regional programs like the Whitecaps & Toronto FC have in place + local tournaments like International Cup (MTL) & BMO Cup (TFC).
