BL. GREGORIO SANCHEZ SANCHO - 7th SEPTEMBER

Bl. Gregorio Sanchez Sancho (Father Tirso of Jesus Mary) was born in Salamanca on April 19, 1899, and baptised on April 23.

He entered the Teresian Seminary of Medina del Campo in 1910. After graduating

2.from high school, he was professed in 1916. Ordained a priest in December 1923, he was sent to Cuba at the beginning of 1924. He carried out great apostolic activity in Havana.

Returning to Spain in 1933 he was assigned to Toledo, where he continued his apostolate.

3. Captured by the militiamen at the end of August 1936, and imprisoned, he was subjected to an unfair trial before the People's Court of Toledo, which sentenced him to death on September 6.

ST MIRIAM BAOUARDY - 26th AUGUST

1. Born January 5,1846 at Abellin, Galilee, her parents died when St Miriam was a toddler. Raised in Egypt by an uncle, she privately consecrated her virginity to Christ. Her uncle was not impressed #StMiriamBaouardy #ChristianTwitter Image

Working for different families throughout the Middle East, St Miriam was eventually taken to the Carmel at Pau by a Sister in 1867.

Following her profession of vows in November 1871, having taken the name Mary of Jesus Crucified, she experienced the stigmata, levitated in prayer, and had visions.

1. Georg Häfner, born 1900 in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany, died on August 20, 1942 in the Dachau concentration camp. He was a German Catholic priest and member of the Carmelite Third Order.

Bl. Georg was chaplain in Kothen and revealed himself as a persistent opponent of National Socialism while he was pastor of Oberschwarzach from 1934 to 1941. That is why he was sent to Dachau concentration camp in 1941
