Menopause can result in a decline in hormone levels, including testosterone, which is essential for various aspects of a woman's health. Here are some natural ways a menopausal woman can increase her testosterone levels: #menopause #testosterone
Exercise & physical activity: Regular exercise, particularly strength training & high-intensity interval training (HIIT), have shown to raise testosterone levels. Incorporate a mix of cardio & resistance training exercises into your routine to help maintain healthy hormone levels
A nutrient-rich diet is essential for hormonal balance: Include both lean & fatty meat, eggs & fish, fats (like those found in avocados, ghee, lard, tallow & olive oil). Specific foods, such as cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, & cabbage), support hormone production.

If I've ever had a dear diary dinner in my life this is it! 50-hour dry brined prime rib, cooked at 225° for a bit over 2 hours & seared in cast iron. I've never had anything better & it's not even close! #Carnivore #carnivorediet #Yes2Meat #RealFood #keto #ProperHumandDiet
20 minutes later…
@BrettBAuto Your prime rib really psyched me up for this one!

I've made lots of changes to my website. Here's a list of all the Databases in a thread. I built it as a pet project to keep track of history, science, and nutrition concerning the #CarnivoreDiet in a way where each individual argument, historical event, book, etc can be linked. Image
Homepage: meatrition.com - About me, some videos, links, and updates.
All History - 1012 quotes about the carnivore diet and related topics (science, religion, other diets) - chronically ordered, tagged, imaged, and meticously copied out of old texts no one wants to read.

This “study” was a really poorly done observational study of 305 people. They gave them a one time, 24 HOUR, food survey. You read that right, they asked them what they ate over the last 24 hours.
.
And here is the worst part… a short thread.
They then labeled anyone eating less than 25% of calories from carbs (and more than 45% from fat) the Keto group. Yup, at 3,000 calorie a day, that is up to 187g of carbs a day, ten times what my client get. So that group basically ate high fat and high carb…
This is complete garbage, but it will be broadcast across every media channel as fact. Just ridiculous. There has to be an agenda behind the pushing of such terrible and misleading info. It makes no sense.

Back in college, I was once appearing for a viva vôce of an economics related subject. The examiner asked us an out-of-syllabus question, "Why do you think the govt gives subsidies for poultry industry?" I will remain forever grateful to my 🧠 for bringing up the answer! Tiny🧵👇🏼
For reasons I still do not understand, my brain remembered something we are taught in primary school. Kwashiorkor is a disease caused by severe protein deficiency. Shamefully, children still die due to it in India. After getting reminded of kwashiorkor, I connected the dots.
I replied, "Kwashiorkor is still prevalent in India. By subsidizing the poultry industry, the govt is trying to increase supply of chicken. This will reduce prices of chicken thus making it more affordable to those who want to eat it. This can help reduce protein deficiency."

🧵 Dec 9th anniversary thread

On this day in 2015 I received a lab result that would alter the course of my life.

Just two weeks earlier I had gotten my very first bloodwork after half a year on #keto that showed my total and #LDL #Cholesterol had nearly doubled (!)… /1
2/ With that first test I was overcome with shock and curiosity — much more former than the latter.

I wanted to get a repeat test to confirm this wasn’t a lab error.

I wasn’t ready to give up #keto, but I was miserable enough that I ate considerably less.
3/ At the same time I learned as much as I could about Lipidology - which focuses on how the body moves lipids (like cholesterol) in the blood.

And to my surprise, this system is already very familiar to me as a software engineer given it is a distributed object network.

How #Carnivore healed my gut, depression, and a life altering injury.

Sharing my experience to help others through similar challenges and find what they're truly capable of.

This is my story, notes, and resources from 14+ months of strict carnivore

🧵Thread
3 years ago I had extreme challenges:

- anxiety
- burnt out
- joints ached
- bloated after every meal
- lethargic throughout the day
- wake time 2+ hours and 3+ cups of coffee

I looked healthy, felt horrible, and needed help, fast.
I fell down the #PlantBased documentary rabbit hole

While highlighting factory farming issues, they spread a biased and unsupported science on plants providing optimal nutrition, masked in ethics.

If we eat meat, not only is it unhealthy for us/planet... we're bad people.

The Case for the Biological Superiority of Raw Dairy 🥛🐄☀️🧑‍🌾

Raw milk’s probiotics, immunoglobulins, unique protein and fatty acid composition, and cytokines like transforming growth factor-beta-1 regulate and enhance development of the human immune system.
👇🧵 Image
Consumption of raw cow’s milk reduces risk of respiratory infections and fever by ~30% in children.

doi.org/10.1016/j.jaci…

Raw milk is inversely associated with rhinitis, respiratory and ear infections, fever, and C-reactive protein, while boiled milk shows weaker protection.
Raw milk during pregnancy or childhood is associated with enhanced lung function and growth, higher breathing capacity, and immunity to airway infection that lasts into older adulthood. This is possibly due to higher interferon gamma, which is vital to proper lung development.

Leather jackets that are a style statement today (unfortunately!) may have been a trend from the Pleistocene era! Here’s how researchers from @MPIWG found evidence of early humans who wore leather clothes around 100,000 years ago!

Read: weather.com/en-IN/india/sc…

📸: E Y Hallett Image
The researchers unearthed 62 bones from layers dating from the Pleistocene era that appeared to have been used as tools. Early humans made these specialised bone tools to skin animals and then processed these skins for fur and leather.
Researchers also found broad, rounded end objects called spatulates, ideal for scraping & removing internal connective tissues from leathers & pelts during the hide or fur-working process. A whale tooth was also retrieved, which appeared to have been used to flake stone.

Through the Myall Lakes Dingo Project, Taronga’s #science team are quickly developing an understanding of the #dingo population. #MyallLakesNationalPark, a beautiful coastal area, has a very pure dingo population of high #conservation value. #ScienceWeek PC: Bobby-Jo Vial Image
Using GPS #radiocollars to keep up with packs, and a comprehensive photo identification library, the team tracks the movements and fortunes of many individuals across several packs. #Dingo pelage patterns, particularly the socks and chest blaze, identifies individuals. Image
We draw these distinctive features on our #dingo ID cards, and use photograph reference photos to identify them. The team are working on making an identikit publicly available, but for now here’s an example for UOM1701 (aka “Bombah Boy”), the dominant male in the Mungo Brush Pack Image

The Myall Lakes #Dingo Project is a collaboration between Taronga, @CES_UNSW, @UNSW_BEES, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service through @NSWDPIE, and MidCoast Council, headed up by Taronga’s @HWConflict and @PitcherBen. #MyallLakesNationalPark #ScienceWeek PC: Bobby-Jo Vial Image
Established in 2019, and funded by the Hermon Slade Foundation and Taronga, this project aims to develop and test novel #nonlethalmanagement tools for #dingoes, and to further our understanding and appreciation of this iconic but much-maligned #Australian #carnivore.
#Dingoes and other #carnivores often communicate territory ownership through #scentmarking and #howling. Sound up for this clip! It's a half-hearted howl, but lovely to hear.

Sound #science underpins effective conservation action, and so developing #conservationmanagement tools requires a deep understanding of #animalecology. #Scienceweek. PC: Bobby-Jo Vial Image
Where #wildlifemanagement tools rely on natural signals to modify behaviour, they must be underpinned by an understanding of #animalcommunication & cognition. Taronga's @HWConflict collaborates on several projects with @BPCTcamp unravelling African large #carnivore communication
For example, #leopard #scentmarking behaviour (doi.org/10.1016/j.anbe…); spotted #hyena latrine-use (doi.org/10.1007/s00265…); #cheetah marking trees (doi.org/10.1111/aje.12…); and scent marking behaviour of #AfricanWildDogs (doi.org/10.1111/eth.12…). PC: Bobby-Jo Vial Image

In addition to conducting the #science underpinning evidence-based #conservation tools, Taronga also supports their roll out. For example, Taronga supports a #carnivore #coexistence officer, Tshepo Ditlhabang, on @BPCTrust’s “Re Mmôgô” project in #Botswana #ScienceWeek Image
This #coexistence officer provides the community with access to evidence-based #HWC mitigation tools, including eye-cow, and is working to provide protective livestock collars, and flashing lights (#lionlights) at overnight enclosures. Image
While deterring hungry #carnivores, flashing lights also deter #elephants, themselves a major cause of #HWC but also a vital part of the ecosystem. Research led by @TempeAdams at Elephants without borders showed lights deterred field incursions doi.org/10.1017/S00306… Image

But even more interestingly, he may have been the first #LeanMassHyperResponder of record*

(* Kinda -- as Sam notes, we didn't advanced lipid panels then)

90 Day Results:
🧠. Clarity
💪 Six Pack Abs
🧈 Lost 8% Body Fat
📉 Blood Pressure
📉 Resting Heart Rate
📛 No inflammation
🦠 Mild Covid-19

Can you guess what I did? 👇
Years ago, @saifedean introduced me and some of the @casahodl team to the #carnivore diet.

This sounded totally contrary to anything I'd learned in college. How could someone survive on just meat?

I was perplexed, but fortunately I kept an open mind.

Since then, I've been a big lurker on #carnivore #keto Twitter and watched the evidence pile up from accounts like @KenDBerryMD, @KetoCarnivore, & @Mangan150.

When I finally decided to get serious about my health, there was only one option, 🥩.

The results blew my mind. 🤯

Recently members of the #IBD community have been slandered for not trying “everything” to cure their disease. Reminder: there is no cure for IBD, but we are working on it.

What was the purported “cure” you ask? A #carnivore diet. Let’s examine ... 1/
A carnivore diet, aka zero carb diet, is devoid of all foods except animal meat, fish, eggs, +/- lactose-free dairy. 2/
Despite the lack of supporting studies, proponents claim it to be a panacea, saying it cures diabetes, depression, helps weight loss and libido... the list goes on. This is all supported by testimony and conviction (highly biased), & not based on objective scientific evidence. 3/

1/ At the risk of sounding uncharacteristically snarky, there's only one way I know to "boost" your immune system -- which is to activate it by getting sick or hurt.

Kind of like boosting the presence of firemen in your neighborhood by setting your house on fire...
2/ Look, seriously, instead of trying to look for a silver bullet supplement or drug -- recognize there is *very clear* evidence that poor lifestyle and diet can result in an inadequate immune response.
3/ As much as I try to stay away from the diet and exercise wars, I can't really avoid it when someone is asking me about the immune response.

Not only was there a lot of evidence of this before #covid19, there's quite a lot of it unfolding in real time during the pandemic.
