thepamphlet.in/remembering-ch…

“O old woman, don't come here, your son was a thief-dacoit, so the Goras killed him, the Bhil standing there laughingly said to an old woman wrapped in a dirty dhoti who was collecting wood in the forest.”
No, Chandu has sacrificed his life for freedom, said the old woman proudly. The name of that elderly woman was Jagrani Devi. This mother lovingly called that son Chandu and the world freed him”. Yes, we all know him by the name of Chandrashekhar Azad.
After father's death, Azad's poor destitute old mother instead of reaching out to anyone, used to collect wood and cow-dung from the forests and kept feeding herself by selling sticks and wood. Shameful thing is that his condition continued till 2 yrs (1949) after independence.

Empty tributes to #ChandraSekharAzad on his birth anniversary mean little. Crucial police/intelligence records relating to his martyrdom, containing the name of or a hint about the traitor who turned him in, have not been released by the free India government.

Azad's killers went scot-free in the country for whose freedom he laid down his life. We rewarded the Indian collaborators of the Empire in post 1947 period. There are reports that Azad's mother was socially boycotted and called "mother of dacoit".

And I am pretty sure that police and intelligence officials responsible for gunning Azad down, and so many other freedom fighters, received pension and other benefits in free India. Those Indians traitors who carried out Jallianwala Bagh massacre surely did.

On his Balidan Divas, a small tribute to the legendary freedom fighter and a brief visit on his life and death.
Azad's Nephew Sujit Azad claims that
1) Nehru informed British about Presence of Chandrasekhar Azad at Alfred Park, because other than Nehru & fellow HRA members nobody else knew that he was coming there.
2) Chandrasekhar Azad gave money to Nehru to release Bhagat Singh, but
Nehru had swallowed it.

Azad rose to fame when he was a 15 year old kid and stood firm in front of magistrate.
