I’m now in Alexandria, where @xychelsea Manning is expected to appear in court. She spent 62 days in jail after refusing to answer questions to a grand jury about Julian Assange @wikileaks, and now they’re going to try again after she’s been free for eight days.

It seems the media got their act together a bit and actually showed up. Most networks here today.

Last time there were like a half dozen journalists when @xychelsea was taken away.

Media is eagerly awaiting Chelsea Manning’s arrival, expected in the next 20 minutes.

Hearing is 2pm, and she’s expected to speak to press before going in around 1:20.

I’ll be live-streaming at Facebook.com/n2sreports

Chelsea @xychelsea Manning has entered the United States Courthouse where a judge will decide whether to hold her in contempt for refusing to testify against Assange.

Reporter: "Is it possible that you aren't walking out those doors after this hearing?"

Chelsea: "Yes."
Ahead of the hearing, I asked Manning what she thinks of these hearings being conducted in secret (no press/public allowed in).

"I have a history of having to deal with secrecy and a lot of these sort of secret proceedings. They tend to favor the government," she tells me.
Here's @xychelsea's full Q&A with the abysmally small group of press that showed up. There was one NBC U crew, one anarchist with a camera, one guy I don't know, and me.
