The Chinese Navy has added a 7th zone to their ‘live-fire’ exercises that will now last until Monday morning at 10am. The Communist Party will use Pelosi’s visit as an excuse to ratchet to a new force operating level in the Taiwan Strait. These exercises are designed to 1/5

La isla de "Formosa" o "Taiwán" fue colonizada por China entre 1683 y 1895. Los aborÃgenes taiwaneses buscaron independizarse varias veces y el perÃodo se recuerda como "cada tres años un levantamiento, cada cinco una rebelión". Los chinos solo lograron controlar áreas costeras.
En 1895, Taiwán fue cedida al Imperio del Japón, luego de la derrota china en la Primera Guerra Sino-Japonesa, y permaneció ocupada cincuenta años. El 25 de octubre de 1945, tras la derrota japonesa en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la isla fue entregada al gobierno de China.
